Back at the beginning of the year, I started a new monthly “feature” here on my blog. I chose one photo from the month to save and highlight. One photo that was not only a favorite but that “highlighted” the month. My hope was to collect them at the year’s end…to have a snapshot view of the year’s blessings and memories. I think I made it two months (sigh) and, even after I began posting again, well, I almost completely forgot about my (shall I say brilliant) idea. Until Cindy reminded me. Thank you, friend. She is trying to do the same and she is also a tad behind. Not nearly has behind as I am! I don’t think I will try to catch up all the months I have missed but let’s, at least, begin with June and July will soon follow.
This is my son (in the middle), his sweetheart of a girlfriend and my nephew, Eli. As most of you know, I have one brother. And two nephews. Yes, a small family:) I do not get to see either of my nephews very often which is disappointing but it does make the times we get together extra special. Eli graduated from college this year – congrats! And he was in town for just a week before he headed over to Europe for the summer. He is an accomplished violinist and auditioned at several universities and conservatories in Germany and Austria at the beginning of summer. (Ultimately, he decided to return to the US and attend Boston University. He has a girlfriend that will be moving to New England but I’m sure that had nothing to do with his decision!)
Things to remember about this photo: 1 – family is one of our greatest blessings. Making time for family is also a gift and I am grateful that Eli chose to spend an evening with us. Next month, he will be a grad student. Rather hard to believe. His brother will also be a grad student. He will begin studying at Oxford this fall. I’m excited for them both. 2 – both of these “boys” look like, well, grown men! They are. But how did that happen? And where does the time go? Ah, and 3 – Victoria is just too cute. We love her and I’m thrilled she is a part of all the fun (family!) photos!!
That is a wonderful snapshot memory! I don’t get to see my nephews much either since they live so far away but the times we do get to see them do feel extra special.
Thank you, Joanne!
What a handsome bunch 🙂 Sounds like you’ve got some pretty accomplished nephews! And Victoria is adorable 🙂
The nephews are pretty cool:)
Great picture and reminder of the importance of family, whatever its size. I don’t get to see my nieces very often so I know what you mean about infrequent visits make the times that you do get together extra special. Your nephews are so accomplished! Congrats to both of them. I hope things continue to go well with your son and his girlfriend. What a cute couple ;). Have a great day!
Personally, I think they are a very cute couple!!:)
What a wonderful post! I loved learning a little about your family. Your son and nephew are so handsome! Victoria sounds like such a sweet person, and how fun to have a girlfriend thrown in the mix! Thanks for sharing this with us, friend!
Thanks for all the kind compliments!!
I am always in awe with anyone with a musical talent! There is definitely a family resemblance there between the two boys/men. A great photo to cherish.
Thanks, Deb!
Family is the best. Love that photo!

You are most welcome, Linda:)
How sweet! One special photo a month is such a great idea. Knowing myself, I’m not likely to keep up with it, but it’s still a wonderful idea. And Victoria looks like such a sweetheart!
Victoria really is a sweetheart!:)
Love this photo! So many great things to remember!
Thanks, Cindy. And thanks again for the reminder:)
What a great family picture. It’s nice that your family is able to spend time together. It does get harder as the children grow up.
That it does…and I’m grateful for even the short times together!
What an impressive and beautiful family!! You are truly blessed!
Thanks for your sweet comment on my blog…Looking forward to many visits!
Happy weekend!
