Happy Monday! This is, hopefully, the last “quick and last minute” post….at least for a while. We have had family in town for the last few days. We only see each other once a year and, apparently, there is a need to put a year’s worth of activities into four or five days in order to accommodate for that! Truthfully, we have enjoyed a lot of fun activity but we have not been busy for the sake of being busy. It has been a great visit – but I simply have not even turned my computer on. And, so, I am woefully behind in blogging. Not only in writing but, especially, with visiting my blog community and friends. I look forward to catching up with week. I hope each of you is doing well and enjoying this season in whatever way feels best for you. (I, personally, could not keep up the pace of the last few days for the entire month!)
We are headed to the airport….and I am looking forward to the return of our “two retired folks” schedule. At least, for a few days! The week ahead will not be fully devoted to gazing at the tree and snitching my husband’s birthday truffles. The Christmas program is this weekend. Even when we are not practicing, I’m sure I will be rehearsing in my head. And in my sleep:) Here are a few verses from the Christmas story that the children have learned. Enjoy – and have a blessed week ahead!!
I’m so glad you have had so much fun with family and I’m glad you now have some time to rest. Love those verses above. It’s just so hard believe God was willing to send His Son to save us!
So glad you had a good time with family. That is always a plus. And yes, now you have to play catch up but it is with pleasant memories of happy days together. Oh, I hope your Christmas program goes really well. We had ours at our church this past Sunday. The kids did so well. I was really surprised as there are so few of them and the age ranges from age 3-16. But the directors really worked hard and those kids did a wonderful job. Made me cry with sweet memories from when our boys were little and in those plays, and I also used to direct them in a few different places we lived. A lot of work, but so worth it. So relax and enjoy the ride. It will be great even if it isn’t perfect…it will still be great. Blessings.
Sounds like you have had a great time collecting lots of happy memories with your family!
Nativity plays always bring a tear to my eye and I know just how much hard work goes on behind the scenes to make sure they are a success. I bet you will breathe a sigh of relief once the performance is over. At my grandson’s nativity one of the shepherds could not resist playing catch with his toy sheep and although it clearly wasn’t part of the script, it did make the audience smile!
I’m so glad you had a great time with your family! I know what you mean, though and can’t keep that pace up for long. I enjoy my quiet little life…well, until December when it becomes crazy, but it makes me look forward to January. 😉 Having a December birthday makes it so much more hectic! I have wonderful friends who make sure I know that I’m loved. ❤ I hope you enjoy a cozy day at home today! I’m looking forward to hearing more about your children’s program!
You have been busy… the best kind of busy is with family, especially if you only see them once a year. I too am behind in posting and commenting, I need to get busy as well. Christmas always sneaks up on me, but it is a beautiful time of year, I just wish it wasn’t so materialistic. Good luck on your Christmas program, I know you have worked hard on it…it will be beautiful! Hugs!
That sounds like a wonderful time spent with family! We always try to cram so much into our visits when we get out of state family members visiting too.
Yes, it was wonderful. And busy!
