Sure hope everyone had a great weekend! The weather here was amazing…more like May than July and we enjoyed a lot of time outside!
We especially enjoyed having friends over and spending the evening out on our deck. Of course, we had dessert. In the background is Mama Hen’s “secret recipe” strawberry cake – very tasty! And dessert pizza is always a hit! It’s almost too easy to share the recipe…..
Use one roll of refrigerator sugar cookie dough for the crust. I let it soften for five minutes and then press onto a stone pan. One quick note here…NO spraying of the stone is necessary! If you do spritz the stone, expect it the dough to run and to run completely over the sides and drip all over the oven somewhat like an old I Love Lucy rerun- not that I would know!
Bake the dough for 10 minutes until light brown and puffy. Let cool. The topping is one block of cream cheese, completely softened, and 1/3 cup sugar mixed well. Spread this over the cooled crust and then decorate with any seasonal fruit. You can use whatever you like on top – it always comes out yummy!
Did you make anything yummy this weekend??
Glad you liked the secret recipe!
I am going to try the dessert pizza this week. I bet the kids will love it (and me too). I'll let you know how it turned out.
Mmmm! That looks delish… and so easy! I think I'll have to write that one down; there are many times when it could come in handy. And so many possibilities on fruits, colors, etc. I cooked a lot, too… if you check out my latest blog entry, you can read all about it! (heh.. was that a shameless plug or what?) We're back from our crazy running around, at least for a few weeks, so I should be able to stop by here more often. Happy belated 4th, and happy summer!
I have been needing an easy, summer recipe like that! Sounds delish! So many different ways to make it with all the different fruits!
Thanks for sharing it.
Blessings!
LOOKS good!!! I am a sucker for sugar cookies.
I have tasted these and they are delicious. Is it as easy as you say??? May have to give it a try. Here is the link to the blueberry yum yum, it was a hit!! http://joyfullycooking.blogspot.com/2008/06/blueberry-yum-yum.html
Hi Jennifer! Thank you for the heads-up about the cookie link. It is fixed now! (And reading about it has got making cookies on my mind!) 😉
Have a great week!
