Privileged

Good Monday morning – and a belated Happy Mother’s Day! I hope that everyone had a wonderful day yesterday….no matter what stage you might be in, I pray that God blessed your day in a special way. I know there are many moms with hurting hearts – hurting for a wide variety of reasons but especially those moms with grieving hearts – and I pray that God comforted their hearts in a personal way yesterday.

My family went above and beyond yesterday to let me know that I am loved – and it was a great day for me. Indeed, it was a great weekend – and as I look back over the weekend….I feel privileged.
Privileged – to have been a part of organizing and putting on the annual Mother/Daughter banquet at our church. From the early planning meetings several months ago to watching it all come together on Saturday has been a highlight for me. So many ladies using the talents and abilities the Lord has give them and working together – it truly was a joy to be a part of the whole thing. The theme was His Eye is On the Sparrow. Our speaker did such a lovely job and the whole event was a blessing. I was privileged to be involved.

Privileged to grow up in a Christian home and to have the mom I did. I know many of us can say the same thing – but there are many who cannot and I don’t ever want to take that for granted. My mom was beautiful, smart, talented, resourceful, fun (and funny!)….but, first and foremost, she was devoted to her husband and children. She poured her heart into loving my brother and me! And, if it were possible, she did the same for my children as well. I am so grateful for the influence she had on their lives….and how very much she loved each one of them so deeply and unconditionally. She went on to Heaven just seven months before Tyler….and I know she greeted, and hugged, and held my baby – and that helped my hurting heart.
And, of course, I am privileged to be not only a mother but also a Mimi, myself. And not just any mother – but mom to Emily, Jordan and Tyler!! And Mimi to Miss Riley!! I thank God for these privileges……
