Happy Saturday friends! That used to say Happy Thursday – which is when I started this post and when it was supposed to go online; yet, here we are on Saturday and I am just getting it done. It has been as “full plate” kind of week for us. Full to overflowing week. I am trying my best to make sure things calm down and I have the chance to (seriously) calm my spirit down – stress keeps it rather agitated – so that I can truly appreciate, and yes celebrate, Easter and all that it means for me as a believer. And, technically this link-up does not begin until Saturday so, looking at things that way, who’s two days late?? I’m right on time!! That said, I think I will use this month’s link-up to share a little Easter goodness. And, of course, the rest of the link-up can be found on Jennifer’s blog. Now, let’s see. This past month, I have:
loved – the bunnies around the house:) They make me smile as I notice their cute bunny faces randomly throughout the day. I’m also still loving my blooming peace lily. I mentioned in an earlier post that I had not had much luck getting blooms but, in the past two or three weeks, two blooms have fully opened and a third one is growing fast. I’m feeling like a true plant mom! I also loved (or at least really enjoyed) putting together some Easter cards with candy for some of the seniors at church. We colored Easter cards in Junior Church and some of the older ones wrote the sweetest notes. Hubby and I delivered several of them yesterday – that was fun.
A few other things to love this time of year: the blooming Bradford pear trees (yes, they stink but are oh so pretty); the pretty pink cherry trees; Cadbury eggs; dark chocolate; creating Easter goody bags for my adult children (you never outgrow chocolate!); all the pretty “He is Risen” and other Easter crafts we’ve been making in Junior Church; and making an Easter treat for the neighbors.
tried to improve – my sourdough game. I think I am about to call it good. Truthfully, we just don’t eat that much bread in our house. And when we do have yummy bread lying around, my hubbie eats far less than his share. The man truly likes his plain white bread (I call it Kindergarten bread). I don’t think sourdough is going to be my “creative outlet.” However, I did find several really good recipes for using the sourdough discard (another negative to the whole sourdough process). We had some of the best brownies and snickerdoodles last week. But, again, my husband ate one of each. I’m constantly trying to find folks with whom I can share my baked goods. (I send a lot to work with my son who shares them in the break room). The sharing is nice but I would enjoy the process more if my own family actually enjoyed (and ate more) of the finished process!!
accomplished – finding a new Easter dress. This one should not have been as hard as it turned out to be. Somehow I cemented in my mind that I wanted a dress with a smocked bodice. Well, don’t you know….smocking can be very unforgiving!? It can cling in all the worng places and it is not a pretty look. I had to buy three different ones before I found one that looked halfway decent. As well, I really thought a pastel(ish) color would look nice for Easter. Um, pastel is not my color. Who knows what I will actually look like tomorrow morning….but, it will be new! Hubby has a new shirt. Loved the first one he tried one. Easy peasy. Too easy peasy.
noticed – my attitude is so much better when the days include more sunshine and winter is officially behind us. One of the best things about the month of March is the official return of spring. We (as in my hubbie) cut the grass for the first time this year. It will probably need it again in less than a week. Nothing says spring like the return of green grass and the mowing season:) Not sure it exactly helps my husband’s “attitude” but I love every little sign of spring. High five to me…survived another winter!!
I want to wish everyone a happy and very blessed Easter. I hope you enjoy time with family and friends. I hope there is a little bit of chocolate in your day:) And, especially, I pray that you personally know what Easter truly means. The resurrection of Jesus and the forgiveness, hope and offer of eternal life that affords to absolutely everyone!! Happy Easter friends!!
Happy Easter to you too! I have enjoyed some chocolate mini eggs this month (probably far too many times!) and I am enjoying watching for those tiny sings of spring. I think we’re probably a good few weeks away from needing to mow but at least I’m seeing some buds on the trees and we have sunny skies today after 4 days of rainy, dreary weather so that drastically improves my mood!
Those chocolate mini eggs can only help with mood improvement too, Joanne!:)
Happy Easter! I liked the photos of your bunnies. I hope you have a lovely time celebrating and that you’re happy with your dress. I agree, it’s lovely when it is warmer and lighter and it begins to feel like spring.
Hooray for beginning to feel like spring!! Enjoy:)
And Happy Easter to you, dear Jennifer!
Thank you, Dianna!!

Thanks, Donna!! Hope your Easter was blessed as well!
I thought about getting on the sourdough bread wagon (my sister tried it), but I knew we would never eat enough of it and I just decided not to do it and I’m really glad I did. Hope you had a great Easter!
It sure was, Cathy. Thanks. And, yes, I totally agree about “too much bread”!! Oh my.
