Still Making an Impact

I think I’ve finally got this scanner up and running!! Hopefully you won’t get tired of my pictures…I’ve noticed I have a lot of “older” photos that I really enjoy (and spent some time looking through photos yesterday – you know, all those ones that I so desperately need to get into scrapbooks..oh my!) but I don’t have nearly as many current pictures.

I think after Tyler died, I stopped taking pictures. Not on purpose but I can see now that it has happened. I really need to work on capturing memories from these days onto film as well. True, none of us are nearly as cute as were when my xweeties were little, but??? 🙂

But I do have a few (well, alot) of pictures from past years that I love……like this one of my buddy. We are on vacation in Florida here – I believe for Erica’s wedding, which means it was HOT! That was the hottest weekend of our lives – and I’m not exaggerating. Tyler was Erica’s biggest fan – they shared a very special bond – and he was loving all the excitement of that weekend.

Recently I was invited to be among a group of parents forming a Parent Advisory Board working with the PANDA team at Children’s Hospital. The PANDA team works directly with terminally ill patients, especially those near the end of life, and the Board is being established to share, educate and help improve the PANDA team’s challenging task at the hospital. I was honored to be asked to join this group. If by my sharing, Tyler’s life and experiences are able to impact the medical community and help other children in any way, I will be richly blessed.

So many doors the Lord has been opening lately. Life is rewarding!!

  1. I pray the Father's blessing and rich anointing on you as you minister on the PANDA team. May the spirit of joy come upon you and spread to others as you walk into destiny.

  3. Oh Jennifer the picture is just darling. I am looking forward to seeing more of your old pics. I have such a collection of pics, I can't imagine EVER getting them organized. What a wonderful opportunity to minister to others by being on this PANDA team. I will pray the Lord uses you in a mighty way (though I know He will and is!) with this. Have a wonderful day. Hugs, Debbie

  4. I am always so amazed at how God brings so many blessings out of one's sorrow. That Panda team sounds awesome and you will be such a wonderful team member. I know you have blessed many lives through your sharing about your sweet son. God is using you in an amazing way. Tyler would be so proud of his Mom. Ministering to others is such an important part of our time here on this earth. I look at all of our blogs as a form of ministry. I have had the privilege of sharing personally with so many precious women. I love seeing pictures of your son. Memories are such a great thing. Love & blessings from NC!

  5. Thanks for visiting me at The Sandwich Years. Your blog is beautiful, too!Interesting…. I have felt God calling me out of my comfort zone as well. I'll pray for you as you step up and out with faith.

  6. Morning Jen! I love this pic of Tyler. He's totally chillin like he doesn't have a care in the world 🙂 So happy here!

I was just sitting here thinking about my wedding day when you mentioned it and how unbearably HOT it was that weekend. How on earth did we get through the entire OUTDOOR wedding in that heat?

Remember after the wedding reception when Jordan and Tyler went swimming in that hotel pool? I remember thinking how much I wanted to join them and skip the rest of my wedding reception. They were having so much fun! So I left the party for as long as I could to sit with them and sneak a BUNCH of sodas, ha-ha 🙂 That didn't last long though cause I think someone came looking for me to go back. I really love that memory though and will always remember those few fun moments when we were all laughing and they were being goofy in the pool.

    Love you!

    Erica

  7. Hi Jenn,
Love that pic of Tyler, he was such a cutie! What a neat opportunity for you to use what the Lord has
taught you and to possibly minister to others. You will do great!
May the Lord truly bless this opportunity hon.
    Have a great weekend,
    Blessings, Nellie
