That’s right – 24 years ago, today, my sweet dad walked me down an outdoor aisle made of crushed shells…to join the handsome (albiet skinny) man that he – and my mother – would give me away to!! It was an absolutely gorgeous day for our outside wedding in the garden of a historical plantation not far from my parent’s home. The grounds were beautiful and the fall mums were already in full bloom. The site runs along a busy road on one side – and I remember the cars honking to celebrate us as they drove by….so fun!
Honestly, the day was just about perfect. I guess the only small “snafu” would be that the cake table, although under the canopy, was placed a bit too close to the edge and the backside of the cake was in the sun. When we walked around back for the cutting…well, it was melted. Still yummy, though!
Fast forward twenty-four years……….we are spending the day together in Leesburg, a historic town not too far from home. It is supposed to be another beautiful weather day and we are still excited to be together!! Now – if just a few cars would honk at us while we are out walking around! 🙂
