Welcome to mid-week and happy Wednesday. I hope your week is going well. It is time for a little Hodge Podge fun. I always enjoy reading others’ answers with these questions. The link-up is here. So, let’s just get started.
1. What do you like most about your family? I have to admit that my family – my husband, two children, and I include my brother – are my greatest supporters, cheerleading section and sources of encouragement. Whether I randomly decide to take up the clarinet, learn ASL or try to crochet with my friends, or I am preparing for and/or simply praying about another missions trip opportunity, or if I am slogging my way through months of cancer treatments…this family of mine supports me, loves me, and goes through it with me. I can’t think of a greater gift.
3. Do you like the color orange? Besides a pumpkin and an actual orange, what’s something orange you love? Orange is not one of my favorite colors. I used to like it much more. In fact, in our previous house, we had an accent wall that was pumpkin orange. I loved that wall (and received many compliments on it). These days…not so much. That said, I do really like the orange shoes I bought recently. Every time I wear them, I get multiple compliements:)5. Let’s wrap this one up with an October this or that…
- pumpkin bread or apple cider donut I think donut. I’d usually say anything pumpkin but, lately, I have had donuts on my mind!
- cozy sweater or cozy hoodie Cozy sweater. I’m still smarting from the hoodie incident on Saturday:(
- apple picking or pumpkin picking Apple picking. Pumpkin patches were great when the kids were little. Now, I like the apple trees.
- scary movie or Hallmark movie Hallmark movie. I do not do scary anything.
- hay ride or corn maze Corn maze. I suppose. Have I ever done a corn maze??
- twinkle lights or candles Twinkle lights:) Lots of twinkle lights.
- autumn hike or autumn bonfire Autumn hike. I should do one of those this week!
6. Insert your own random thought here. I did mention that I was bringing back a “series” (for lack of a better word) that I did many years ago. Friday with Friends. I was pleasantly surprised when so many of you mentioned that you would look forward to it:) I plan to do this every other Friday. Or twice a month. Nothing complicated. I will simply throw out a question and look forward to reading your responses in the comments. If you want to answer the question in a blog post…well, that would be fun too. That is why I’ll mention the question on a Wednesday. However, there will not be a link-up or anything like that. And, please, don’t share your answers here. Wait until Friday’s post. That way, answers will all be in the same post so everyone can read and enjoy them. So, as promised here is this week’s question:
Forty percent of women surveyed, said they make/form a first impression of others (especially other women) based on….what?? A specific answer. What do you think it is??? And how would you answer that question for yourself??
I look forward to reading your answers. One last random insert. Still working on the Fall Photo Challenge. Some of the prompts have been, well, challenging. Pet, for instance. Or hot chocolate. A few are just a no for me. As in, your scalp. Huh?? But here are a few of the ones that I have taken recently: a snack; sunset (could only manage to get that one while I was driving down the highway); tree; home; autumn; your workspace; and something you are grateful for (that would be my son’s successful trip across the country)!!

Enjoyed reading your answers! An orange accent wall- that reminds me that I painted a half bathroom orange in our first house. I must have seen an inspo picture somewhere (this was before Pinterest and even high speed internet, lol). Giggling over your hoodie incident. This curious mind wants to know why you turned down the invite to speak- what an honor to be asked. Have a great day!
Maria – glad you found the hoodie incident humorous:) I’m now critically looking through my wardrobe….what age does it say?? Would love to tell you about my speaking decision. But would have to meet for coffee and talk one on one! It’s a thought –
Those orange shoes are so cute! I love that you both are enjoying retirement so much. We have all the same answers to our this or that questions.
Brilliant minds, Joanne…..
Your family sounds like such a wonderful support and how lovely to be asked to be a speaker at the women’s Christmas party.
How great that your husband has fully retired. My dad is 75 and keeps saying he’s going to retire but hasn’t quite yet. He just loves being busy.
Your fall photos are fab!
It took my husband a long time to finally decide to fully retire. He could not quite imagine what his days would like it. But he has no regrets, that is for sure! Thanks for your comment and compliment!
I’ve found retirement to be so different than what I imagined it would be. It’s definitely not boring! How nice to be asked to speak and I think if it didn’t feel right for you for whatever reason it’s good to say no. Sometimes we end up doing something because we said yes on the fly. Have a great day!
It was definitely the right choice for me to say no…this time. I pray there will be another opportunity! I enjoyed the link-up, Joyce!
I love a good apple cider or pumpkin donut. Enjoyed reading your responses to the hodge podge questions, Jennifer. It sounds like you have a great support system. Those orange shoes are adorable. Have a wonderful Wednesday.
I am enjoying the shoes, Robin:) And, yes, a yummy fall donut sounds delicious right about now!!
Hmmm…now I am very curious about Friday’s post! So many bloggers are mentioning apple cider donuts – I need to find some!
I think I really “need” a donut as well! I actually just purchased a donut pan but have not made my first batch. Today could be a good day:)
Enjoyed your answers. I love fresh, hot apple cider donuts. Oh no, I need to go read about the hoodie incident.
