Welcome to a post on Saturday! I typically do my monthly Share Four Something posts on Friday. A day early, but it works for me. I just gave myself a break yesterday and, this month, I am joining the others today. You can find the full link-up here. Thanks, Jen, for keeping this link-up going. I really enjoy it. No real need for an intro, so let’s just look back at August and see, this month, something….
I LOVED – was finally (FINALLY) getting back on track with eating and exercise. By exercise, I mean walking. That’s where I’m at just now. I would like to begin strength training but that will come. Maybe after vacation?? The mornings have been wonderful for walking. Although the temperatures still rise pretty signficantly during the day, the mornings have been so nice. Beyond nice. I’ve changed my route and lengthened my walks…and I’m super enjoying it. I hope I can increase my distance even more but that will wait until after I get home from vacation. Eating right – in a way that really works for me – has made a big difference for me, as well. Especially mentally. But shedding a few pounds doesn’t hurt my feelings either. Just sayin.
THAT SUSTAINED ME – was getting away for a several days to my friend’s house in NC! It was exactly what I needed to reset and refresh:) I’m so thankful to her for opening her heart, her home…and her pool! Planning for our upcoming vacation has also been exciting. And sustaining, if not a tad bit stressful. Packing is not usually difficult for me but I really seem to be struggling with getting my suitcase ready for this trip. Other than the suitcase, everything is reserved, confirmed and ready to go!
I AM CARRYING FORWARD – the walking, the good food choices and the healthy eating habits. And the good mental attitude that comes with it. I’ve been asked a few times if I will “stick with it” while I’m on vacation. I cannot think of why I would not. I think it will only make the vacation better…not put a damper on it. Perhaps I will be proved wrong but we will see.
I AM MAKING SPACE FOR – Bible study, which resumes in two weeks. For birthday celebrations (September is a big month for us). For apple picking, local festivals, and for plenty of the fun things of fall. I’m ready. Bring it on. I will clear my calendar for them!! We even have plans/reservations for another vacation in October:)
And, just like that, we have another, rather quick wrap-up for this month. My answers seem short and sweet. No particular reason but I think I covered it all. That said, what was something you loved in August? I hope you will share in the comments. Please plan to come back on Monday. Until then, enjoy your weekend!! Thanks for stopping by today!
There’s a time for short(er) and concise writing and a time for being verbose and the nice thing about writing for fun as opposed to, say, for a job, is that YOU get to decide each time you write which way you’re going to be :). I like “wordy” Jennifer’s writing but I like the clear cut answers to prompts, too. Anywho, I enjoyed reading your post and how you had a lovely trip and have one to look forward to. Also congrats on healthier habits including walking longer AND eating healthier- very impressive!
I like “wordy” Jennifer…lol. Pretty sure you are the only one ever who made that comment!!:) Thanks! Hope you have a great Saturday!
I enjoyed your responses, Jennifer. Glad you were able to get away and spend time with your friend! Well done on your walking and healthier eating habits! I am slowing getting back to better eating and walking now that my knee is bothering me less. I hope you have a wonderful weekend.
So glad your knee is not bothering you as much! Happy Saturday to you, too, Robin!
