Who am I? A wife for almost 40 years. A mom for over 36 years. A sister and a friend, of course. Each of these help describe me. But, even more, I have been a Christian since accepting Him as my Savior when I was 12 years old and, this truth defines each area of my life. I have enjoyed some mountain top experiences but have been through some very deep valleys as well. Valleys of incredible grief and even pits of depression. However, most of my days are ordinary, routine kind of days. But in every one of my days, God has been faithful. He has walked with me whatever the day. He strengthens, comforts, encourages and blesses me with life "most abundant."

A favorite life verse: The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. John 10:10

Why do I write? Though not quite as private as my dad, I am definitely my father's daughter. I find it difficult to share. And to let others in. But I do love to write. I love to put words into sentences and sentences in paragraphs that help express my thoughts. I hope my words help me share my heart. Share the life that God has given me and all that He has done for me and through me. I write with the hope of giving Him at least a bit of the glory He is due.

A verse to guide my writing: That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ. I Peter 1:7

May’s Ten on the Tenth

Good Monday morning, friends.  I’m a day late (or two) but I thought I would join the Ten on the Tenth group.  This month, there were some this or that questions.  This I can handle on a Monday morning.  I hope everyone had a good weekend and the week ahead looks to be a good one.  Have a beautiful…and, now, on with the choices:)

Definitely a tiny house in the country.  As in, on dry land.  Just the thoughts of gently bobbing and/or water rolling (not the mention the potential storms) makes me start to feel queasy.  Although I will admit it sounds a bit romantic, living on a boat anywhere would not be the life for me.

I would make a terrible actress (or much of a performer of any kind) but would certainly choose Shakespeare over Stephen King.  I have no use for scary/gorey/gross movies.  Or books.  Or…well, anything.

Give me black appliances.  Pink has its place but not in the kitchen.  Or, at least, not in my kitchen.  Right now, I have steel appliances but I could be quite happy to go back to all black appliances.

I would honestly love to be allergic to cake.  That would solve a lot of problems (er, temptations) for me.  The idea of never eating chips again is a very sad thought, in my opinion.

I have no desire to go back into the past.  The past is best left in the past.  Not sure what I would say to my future me but I suppose I could learn something in a quick five minute chat with her.

I am very sincere when I say I would not choose to be rich or famous.  I would be lousy at either one.  However, if I had to choose, I would go with rich.  Being famous would be incredibly tiring.  Aggravating.  And suffocating.

Give me a small car anytime.  I am not a fan of trucks.  If you are…that’s okay.  But that one is an easy choice.

I would rather live with my children.  The question is…would they want me to live with them?!?

I want zero tattoos.  Period.

I like lettuce and I like strawberry jelly.  I’ve never had them together but I suppose that is the one I would choose.  My husband is a fan of spam.  Go figure.  But I think it looks funny and smells worse.  So no spam for me.

Well, there you have it.  Do you learn something interesting?  Just kidding.  But would you want to rich and/or famous?  Let me know.  Happy Monday.

  1. I like to drive an SUV because I can see more than in a little car but I would not want to drive a truck!!

  2. If I had to pick rich or famous, I would pick rich and stay out of the limelight. I could still live a simple life, and donate my riches and time to causes I deem worthy all while staying in the background. I’m not a fan of pink, but I do prefer white appliances over black. Did you know that white isn’t considered a standard color when it comes to appliances? Not a fan of jelly or spam, so I would either have a plain peanut butter sandwich or a plain lettuce sandwich!     1. Someone else told me that had such a hard time buying a white stove/oven. They wanted to replace theirs and continue to match the other white appliances. It was a challenge. Who would have thought it?? Glad you stopped by, Robin.

  3. I’d rather be rich rather than famous. But I wouldn’t want to spend the wealth on myself but give it to those in need. And I sincerely mean that.

  4. I definitely would not want to be famous. I’d be miserable. I really value my privacy. So I’d have to pick riches. I could bless my children, my church and others.

  5. I have no desire to be rich or famous, because I feel already so fortunate. I was dedicated anti-tattoo until I turned 64. Why was I so inspired? No idea, but its for me and no one else, even if people see it and remark on it. And spam? So good! Love it sliced and sizzled a little in the pan and with mayo on a sandwich. (:

  6. I would never want to be famous; I enjoy my privacy far too much to give that up. We used to have all black appliances too and I’d happily go back to them as well.

  7. I’m firmly in the no to fame camp. Money- sure, I’d take plenty of. Interesting questions for sure! I think I would answer the same what you did on just about everything :).

  9. Awe….these were fun and my answers would be much like yours. Not sure I could handle the lettuce and jelly. Not a fan of spam for sure. I do drive a larger SUV…I just feel safer, I don’t know! NO tatoos here although I’m beginning to think I am in the minority..but that is okay with me. I enjoyed each of these…

  10. Thanks for joining in this month! I thought about living on a boat, but then I thought of all the creatures living underneath me…so that became a solid nope! I think it’s interesting so many people said black appliances. I’m all about color and would gladly pick pink though I’d prefer purple or teal! I would love to be disgustingly rich and then give almost all of it away. I find so much pleasure in giving to people. Of course, it would have to be done anonymously.

  13. I do enjoy being on a cruise travelling to different places but I’m not sure about living on a boat all the time. Fortunately I seem to have good sea legs.
    I don’t see many black kitchen appliances over here – plenty of white or silver coloured ones and a few pastel or primary colours.
    Being famous is not for me, I’m a bit of an introvert at heart.
    I enjoy history of all kinds but I wouldn’t want to go back at all. I’m just happy with the time and place I have been given.
