Happy Wednesday friends! It has been an absolutely stunning week here. I hope it has been just as lovely (however you prefer your weather) where you are today. Speaking of weather and seasons, I was excited to learn there are so many fellow sun and/or summer lovers out there! I often feel like the “debby-downer” in the crowd when the excitement for autumn is mounting and I’m in denial. Clinging to all that is summer. Apparently, I am not alone. I feel so much better now:) Having said that, yesterday was the start of pumpkin spice season. Or so I was told. And, don’t you know, I found myself among the coffee shop (at Starbucks even!) regulars yesterday. I did not get the pumpkin spice but I did try a fall-inspired pecan crunch (something something) latte. And it was yummy! So I am not completely callous to all things fall:)
Several months ago (many, several months ago), I began monthly posts to capture a highlight for the month. I was not consistent…which might be a reflection of my inconsistency in photo taking, but who knows for sure?? However, I thought August deserved remembering. I even have two photos. God has been faithfully strenthening, encouraging and renewing me this month. It is a work in progress.
Of course, there was my trip to San Francisco at the beginning of the month. Not only was that a treat but it was a special time for me. The Lord used this time away in several ways for me. I am grateful and the trip deserved mentioning again. I actually had photos to share from that trip. (I know. Hard to believe.) You can see them here, if you missed it. This next photo is a bit random but, sometimes, these blog posts are simply for me.
Yep, it’s my living room. A very random photo of my living room that I snapped yeseterday morning. Nothing special to others but this particular photo says volumes to me. And I want to remember it. Remember that God is working and remember all that He has done in the last four or five weeks. I cannot go into details (they are not important here anyways) but I will be reminded whenever I look at this photo. Our God is so very personal. He knows what settles our hearts and He cares about even the smallest details. If anything, this photo reminds me that I can trust Him.
Thanks for indulging me. And thanks for stopping by today. I so appreciate your comments. That is something else that often encourages me…and makes me smile!! Have a beautiful day friends!
Thanks for sharing your photos… and your heart :). I do like the photos a lot. San Fran (many parts of it) is so pretty as is your living room. Those drapes are fantastic- they are so classy looking in your room. Thanks for the reminder that God is in the details of our lives and is at work at all times in our lives. Happy fall temperature wise! It’s cool and sunny here- practically perfect for a Tuesday morning in late August!
The weather has been practically perfect, hasn’t it?!? So exciting:) Always glad when you stop by, Maria!!
Sanctification is such an amazing work in our lives. It was good to get a glimpse of your August. Your living room is so beautiful and peaceful. Love those tall windows and the light.
Yes it is, Ellen. I am grateful for the gift of sanctification. I appreciate your comment..and glad you came by today!
What a lovely, relaxing room to spend time in. The light coming in from those high windows gives it all a warm glow.
Mother Nature is certainly feeling the autumnal vibes today here, we’ve had a little bit of every kind of weather!
Hooray for all the autumnal vibes!! So glad you stopped by, Deb!! Hope you are having a great week –
Both of the pictures you shared are incredible, Jennifer. Your living room looks like a peaceful place to read or just rest. Love the fog in the bridge picture. Happy Wednesday!
The fog really made our visit quite…um, magical:)
Jennifer, I enjoyed your pictures that remind you of the highlights of this month. Your living room is beautiful, by the way. 🙂 xx
Thank you so much, Dianna. What sweet comments:)
Jennifer, your living room is very cozy and nice 🙂 When I go to Starbucks I always get the Mocha Cookie Crumble. I have no idea what’s in it, but it’s delicious 🙂
I am ready for Fall, but only for the cooler weather. I’m not into pumpkin drinks or changing all of my decor to fit the season. I just need a good cool front to blow in 🙂
Have a great weekend!
Oh Debbie – you have given me another option. Mocha Cookie Crumble…that even sounds yummy! Thanks. Here’s to that cool front blowing in any day now!!
They did a survey on the radio this morning to see if people thought it was too soon to celebrate fall or ok to do so now. I’m on the side of it’s too soon. I insist on keeping all of my American flag decor out until September 11th and after that I may slowly bring out the fall stuff. I love the picture of the Golden Gate Bridge. I’m not sure why but it’s always been my dream to go to California. My husband has no desire to go so who knows if I ever will. I’m sure seeing that bridge was awesome. Your living room is beautiful. So clean and cozy looking.
California was fun…but I think that is because of the company:) If you had to pick “one great trip,” you could probably find other places just as exciting/special as California. Just sayin:) Thank you for your kind comments!
Such a pretty living room! I love all the plants.
I had one opportunity to cross over the San Francisco Bay Bridge many years ago. Quite a sight. Such an iconic place.
Yes, indeed God knows our hearts. I’m glad you have that photo of your living room to remind you of what He has brought you through.
Thanks, Melanie! And thanks for noticing my plant babies:) LOL
Hi Jennifer, I’m happy you have been having great weather. It’s been really nice here also. You are a summer person and you have lots of company. My post about each season today is about many things that I enjoy in each season. I get heady in the humid weather and yet there are so many things I love out in nature. For my weekend treat I go to Starbucks and will have to try those you’ve mentioned. Thank you for the link to your vacation photos and your living room is so pretty, cosy and comforting. A very enjoyable read as always my friend. Have a wonderful rest of the week and a very happy weekend.
Great photo of the bridge – very atmospheric. 😊
I really like your living room Mine is a little more chaotic at the moment but I’m working on it.
