Happy Monday!! How was the weekend? We had a special day at church yesterday – a church anniversary with our pastor and his wife – with delicious food and enjoyed a very nice day. Saturday was also nice. We did all the Saturday things: farmer’s market, ran a few errands, grabbed a bite to eat and then went for a long walk in the evening. We went about 45 minutes before dark. Is that dusk?? It was the perfect summer evening. Our local park was full of families enjoying the weather. And no bugs! One family was even flying a kite, although I have absolutely no idea how as there really was not a snip of a breeze blowing. The whole park, full of laughter and happy energy, was quintessential summer! Gotta love it!
The week ahead looks like a good one. This afternoon we are meeting friends in order to celebrate a birthday. Tomorrow, the ladies from Bible study (that has been on break since early June) are getting together for lunch. I look forward to catching up with everyone. Plans also include another Bible study with my two friends and visiting one of my Junior Church kiddos in the hospital. She will be having very major surgery on Wednesday, bless her heart. She is such a trooper. Whatever time is leftover, I’m sure I can find some way to savor more of summer.
Speaking of summer goodness, the farmer’s market is absolutely amazing this time of year. I don’t garden. Have never grown a vegetable in my life. But, oh do I ever love fresh from the garden goodies! We stocked up on Saturday. It is going to be a week of good eating around here.
But, back to today. It is the tenth. Typically, I miss Ten on the Tenth. Not sure why my brain cannot keep up with that but it is a struggle. But, not today. I remembered. Check out the rest of the link-up here. Today’s questions are some fun “would you rather” ones. Here they are….(I’ll leave my answers below.

- Bali. I know the weather is “decent” for a couple of months (a few weeks) in Alaska. But when I think Alasaka, I just think cold. And snow. And…well, no. For me, a vacation does not involve snow.
- I would SO love to play a musical instrument. I took piano lessons as a child but, these days, cannot say that I “play the piano.” That makes me incredibly sad. I also tried to teach myself how to play the clarinet. The saying about teaching old dogs not tricks?? I proved that to be true.
- Sneakers. No flip flops for this girl. Such uncomfortable footwear.
- I’ll take the lazy river. The last time I did this was on vacation in Mexico. Ten years, maybe?? The lazy river part was okay but we went through caves. Hanging my feet in water I could not even see was not cool. But, you certainly will not find me on any roller coaster these days. Much less “the highest” one. No thanks.
- Put me on a flight. My road trip limit is about five hours. Then I start getting cranky. A flight is a bonus for all involved traveling with me.
- Summer birthday. Everything is better in the summer!!
- I love craft fairs. I enjoy the buying but I really enjoy the creativity of so many. Talented people (crafty or otherwise) impress me.
- I’ll stick with tubing. Again.
- I’m not sure about this but I think I would pick a safari. Seeing amazing animals – up close and personal – sounds great…but I also think safaris sound dangerous. I probably would be scared. But, whale watching?? I would probably be seasick. And maybe even bored (??)
- Don’t see any reason to control the weather. (I’ll leave that job to God.) Talking to animals might be fun. But weird. I just think I’ll pass on this one.
Odd way for me to end. But still some fun answers. Goodness, I wish I would play the piano. And that I was crafty. Sigh. For now, I will stick to blogging. My creative outlet, I suppose. Thanks for stopping by friends. Let me know if you play an instrument. Or which craft you enjoy. I know so many of you are super talented. I promise not to be jealous:)
It sounded like you had a wonderful weekend, Jennifer. Enjoyed your responses to the 10 on the 10th. Here are mine…
1. Definitely Alaska
2. Neither learn an instrument or paint. I don’t have talent for either one.
3. Definitely sneakers
4. Float along a lazy river
5. Road trip because I don’t fly
6. Winter birthday, but I really like my spring one
7. Craft fair always
8. Tubing down a river (have already done the zip line thing)
9. Both a safari and whale watching
10. Talk to animals
Have a marvelous Monday.
EEKS! I enjoyed this post so much :). You know I love a good “deep dive” but the surface is a fun place in which to play and am I’m glad to be playing in the surface with you! Most of my answers are the same as yours. As I thought of my answers I thought of what yours might be (lots of thinking today!). I did not think you’d choose safari. I definitely wouldn’t even though whale watching is kind of basic- it means you’re on a boat hopefully on a beautiful sunny day! I prefer flying as well. I like my spring birthday and could see advantages of both summer and winter. I would love to paint and play an instrument. Fun and I’m glad you had a nice weekend and have some great things to look forward to this week.
Hello friend! Sounds like you have great week of connecting and fellowship!! I hope it is a great week! I enjoyed reading your answers. I love when you do these things.
1. Alaska
2. Instrument
3. flip flops
4. Lazy River
5. Road Trip
6. I have summer so I guess summer. 🙂
7. flea market
8. I like both but Zip Lining more
9. I would like to do both but maybe safari more
10. hmm I do not know lol!! Maybe weather.
I would love to talk to the animals, but I think I would be very surprised! Many of those I would say either both or neither!! A fun post and I wish you a happy week ahead!!
I’d like to do the 10 on the 10th, but it’s rare that it works out for me in terms of my blog. I’m with you on Bali, the lazy river, craft fairs, summer birthdays, tubing, and a safari. I love the idea of whale watching, but know the motion would be too much for me.
Oh, I think often about hw I wish I could play an instrument, and I could – I would just need to opportunity to find one that’s right for me (:
I’ve been on a boat in the Pacific several times (not on a whale watch tour) and seen whales. They’re big! I’d pick safari. That would be a once in a lifetime kinda thing and if I could talk to the animals, even better!
No instruments for me. Back in the 60’s I did have a guitar – played a little but mostly for effect. Strum a little, tap on the guitar. So silly. I thought I was so cool. I’ve played tambourine. Just shake and act like you know what you’re doing.
Enjoyed your 10 answers on this 10th day of August!
Thanks so much for joining in on the fun! A lot of our answers match! I would love to vacation in Bali, but I fear those days are over. And, I completely agree about road trips!

Hi,
No flip flops for me.
Cannot sing or play a note, and yes I am jealous of those who can. 😉
I enjoyed your post today.
