What a crazy weekend…hopefully not an indicator of the week ahead! The weekend started off wonderful….with the fundraiser Saturday night! We had a great evening and raised money that certainly surpassed my expectations. Details – and hopefully pictures – will be coming up when I return from my trip.
The weekend ended on a much different note when Mr. Rascal suddenly got sick and we had to make an emergency room visit….why do pups – and children – always get sick at night…and on the weekend??? He seems to be “on the mend” but, goodness, there is much to do now to get ready for my trip of a lifetime!!
Texas…here I come! So, I’m looking for all my Texas friends…. We are going to San Antonio. I certainly want to see River Walk and Hubbie hopes to get to the Alamo…but we are always excited to try the “local’s favorites” for meals, shopping 🙂 or other fun ideas!! If you live that way or have been there before, PLEASE leave me your ideas. I don’t know when I will ever get that way again – so we will surely make the most of our long weekend!
Forty-two hours and counting……….
Hope you have lots of fun, Jennifer! I know you’ve been looking forward to it! I’m so excited for you! Hope Mr. Rascal is better now!
Best wishes on your trip! I can’t give you any ideas because I’ve never been there, but I’ve heard wonderful things. I know you’ll have an absolute blast! Enjoy…
Wishing you safe travels and a wonderful visit with your AIRMAN! I can only imagine how proud you and Hubbie must be! Congratulations to Jordan on a job well done!
The San Antonio zoo is really nice…of course when we go we have to hit Sea World for the little boys.
45 minutes north of San Antonio is a town called San Marcos which has the most AMAZING outlet mall!!!
Have fun!!!
oooh have fun! glad mr rascal is feeling better. i can't help with San Antonio, I only know a little around Dallas & Ft Worth 🙂
Eat at Rio Rio Cantina on the Riverwalk. Go to the Botanical Gardens. The zoo is great. Oh, I will see what else I can come up with! You will be so close to us (well relatively speaking, Texas is a big state!)
Oooh! San Antonio! How FUN! 🙂
I agree with Dawn, if you are into shopping San Marcos would be worth the drive.
Other than that, plan to take your time and enjoy the Riverwalk, Alamo, etc! There are a lot of things to see right there in walking distance. The tour-boats are fun if you like little bits of history trivia, and they give you a different view of things.
I hope you have fun in Texas!! 🙂
Good morning, Jennifer! This is Trish with the Nick’s Nook… 🙂 Please email me at trishbrammell03@hotmail.com so we can work out the arrangements on the book drive. Thank you so very much for your willingness to donate!
God Bless,
Trish
If you go to the outlet mall in San Marcos, there is a place across the freeway called Central Station (I think) that has AWESOME burgers. Yummy good! Have a safe trip. If I think of anything else I will let you know!
Hi Jennifer,
Have fun in Texas! You will love the River Walk and the of course the Alamo! We always eat at Casa Rio on the River Walk. I also must suggest that you have some bar-b-q while in Texas! Have a great trip and sure hope your doggie is feeling better! 🙂
What?!?!?! You’re coming to my state?!?! I wish that it was Dallas instead of San Antonio though. lol!
We’ve been to San Antonio a few times. It’s always the River Walk and the Alamo for us. Both are very entertaining. We all enjoy both places every time we go.
Praying for a safe journey here and back home friend!
