Welcome to the blog! I hope your week is going well. Goodness but we had some rain yesterday. So much rain. But none of it was freezing and there was no snow. So thankful for that! Apparently, there was some real confusion with the local public school systems. School was closed. Then, no, it was opening but on a delay. And, no again, school was on time. Boy howdy…but I am not sorry to be past that season of life. Just sayin. But, here we are at the first Wednesday of the month. So, it is time for another Currently post. As always, the whole Currently link-up can be found here on Jen’s blog. For me…let’s just jump right in! Currently, I am
loving – the house being so clean and tidy. I mentioned earlier that I had been procrastinating. Waiting “to get that done” until just before our company arrives. Well, tomorrow is the day. So, we have been dusting, polishing, scrubbing and shining all the things. I love the house like this. I guess we need to invite overnight guests more often. Ok, maybe not. But I do like everything shiny!!
hoping – the weather stays okay through the weekend. We are having company this weekend. From Florida. She is excited about the “snow” word they keep tossing around the forecast. Me? Not so much. Snow interrupts and complicates everything around here. We have fun plans – and my hubbie is celebrating a birthday – and I’m crossing my fingers for no snow. Just between me and you:)
doing – too much eating and not enough walking. Oh my, but my walking habit has really gotten off kilter! When the temperatures get in the 30s, I lose all motivation to get outside and walk. Sad but true. I tried walking in the basement (to a video) the other night. It was so boring and declared a failure. So yesterday I joined a gym. I have not had a gym membership in decades, but I know from experience, if I don’t get back to walking quickly, I will have a new habit. Of being lazy. The plan is to use the treadmill through the winter months…and then get back outside. But, who knows, by then I could be an official gym rat!?! (Again, maybe not. But a girl can imagine….)
wearing – Christmas earrings! You might recall my “incident” a few weeks ago when I was excited about my fall-themed sweatshirts. Until I started matching the senior ladies at our local fall festival. Maybe I got a bit carried away. But surely I can have fun with Christmas earrings. I hope so because I have several. And they are festive:) Right? And cute?? Please tell me it is okay.
seeing – all the possibilites of yummy coffee drinks for weeks to come. For 22 more days, to be exact. I am having fun with my advent calendar. I have to admit, this morning’s selection had me skeptical. It was amaretto. Isn’t amaretto a licorice flavor? I do NOT like licorice and I was hesitant to try this coffee. But it was delicious. (and nothing that tasted like licorice!) The taste was nutty. Almonds maybe?? It actually reminded me of pecan sandy cookie. I dunno…but it was yummy and I’m glad I was willing to give it a try.
I am also seeing my December calendar fill up. In all the fun ways. There are several things I am looking forward to in the next few weeks. Holiday fun things:) Tomorrow we are headed to the Museum of the Bible for a Christmas concert with Point of Grace. These ladies started singing back in the early 90’s. I’m looking forward to an evening of Christmas music.
And I am still seeing pilgrims around the house. I have to admit, I am ready for some Christmas in here:) As soon as our company leaves, the pilgrims and turkeys will return to their bins…making room for all the Christmas cheer. Other than that, not seeing much else. Let me know what you have been seeing lately. And you can check out what the others are seeing, loving and doing at the link-up. As always, thanks for stopping by today!!
Fun currently post!! Yes, to all the great earrings- I have a few pairs of fun and big (for me) Christmas earrings that I wear with gusto this time of year. How fun to have company… and that shiny house that precedes company! Sometimes when my house is a disaster, I think that I need to invite people over because I know that will motivate me to clean :). Speaking of motivation, congrats on joining a gym. I hope you get lots of walking done due to having a membership… and using it!! Have a great day!
Good morning, Jennifer! Amaretto is almond while anise is licorice. Glad you enjoyed this morning’s coffee! I am the same way about the cleaning frenzy when we have guests. I hope you enjoy the time with your house guests. Well done on joining a gym! With the colder days, I head to the basement and walk the treadmill. Who am I kidding?!?! I walk in the basement on the treadmill or use the recumbent bike all year usually with 2 fans blowing on me. I hope you enjoy your concert. Enjoy the wearing of the holiday earrings! While teaching, I always wore novelty socks and guess what, I still wear them. If it makes you happy, then do it. Happy Wednesday!
Thank you for the Christmas earrings reminder, Jennifer. I had completely forgotten get them out and we are already on Decemer 3rd. That means I will have to wear three different pairs today to catch up 😂😂
Glad that today’s coffee turned out ok in the end.
That would drive me nuts if our school district did that. As you saw on my post, we did get a little snow here in south-central PA but up north got a lot more. I’d only like snow if it fell on Christmas, that’s it. That coffee sounds delicious. What a great idea for an advent calendar.
I am really enjoying the coffee advent calendar…I thought that was a fun idea, as well, and one I could look forward to each morning:)
Jennifer, my treadmill and I have become great friends over the last couple of months. I find a channel on YouTube that meets the amount of time I walk (or close to it) and then take my walk. I am feeling so much better. But, I, like you, do miss being outside to walk. Our road isn’t the best for walking in good weather, let alone with the snow that we currently have.
Yes, my friend, it’s okay for you to wear Christmas earrings.! 🙂
“See” you tomorrow.
Oh thank, Dianna. So glad someone agrees that Christmas earrings are fun and festive:) And, yes, I feel better after I walk…but do miss it outside. I was able to get in a walk this afternoon – which was so nice!
We had the same weather and all I kept saying (as we were walking around touring a college!) was “at least it’s not ice or snow.” I have the same struggles with walking in the cold weather; we do have a treadmill in our basement gym but gosh I really hate working out down there. It’s just not the same. I have my Christmas earrings in today!
Hooray for wearing your Christmas earrings!!:)
We also had the same rainy weather here. I like sunny days and to not be out in the rain. How fun to be wearing Christmas earrings for the holidays. I love wearing holiday sweaters. I can understand about walking in the cold weather. I belong to a gym where I go about 3 times a week. During the holidays it’s a little harder to get to the gym with being so busy. I hope you have a wonderful December and holiday season.
I can imagine getting to the gym is going to take some real determination. I’m sure I will find all kinds of reasons/excuses not to get in the car and go!
It’s turned cold here in the Blue Ridge Mountains, but no snow yet. It’s hard to get outside to walk on cold days like these. I like to go to the gym and walk as often as possible.
I hope you will have a blessed Christmas.
I enjoy your blogs.
So glad you stopped by, Brenda. And took the time to comment. So nice to meet you:)
Although I was expecting to see a Hodgepodge post, I enjoyed reading about all your Currentlys. Speaking of snow! No, not here in Texas, but our son and family have gotten tons in Upper Indiana, and the pictures are gorgeous. I’ve put in an order for snow while we are there for Christmas. Enjoy your clean house and your company.
I have heard Indiana has had more than their fare share of snow so far this year!! I think I could enjoy winter in Texas!! Thanks for stopping by, Elizabeth!
