Happy Monday! Outside my window, it is a bit calmer after last night’s wind. Goodness but it was blowing on the way home from church last night. We did not bother to put out our trash bin for this morning’s pick up. It can just wait until the second pick up later this week. It was also chilly once the sun went down last night. Of course, it is January but the weather has been unseasonably delightful…and is forecasted to be so for the next couple days as well. No complaints from me.
I hope everyone enjoyed a nice weekend. Mine included one of the most indulgent pedicures I have enjoyed in..well, forever. It was amazing. I sure hope that it can be repeated when I return next month. Hopefully a second wonderful pedicure will not as challenging as a second good haircut…which often seems impossible. Or is that just me?? There may or may not have been quite bit of bird watching over the past few days as well. We tried a new bird seed and, oh my goodness, we might have to start taking reservations at our backyard feeder!! By the way, the above photo is not from my yard. (My photos are free from Unsplash) but the housefinches (just like those pictured) are all over the yard. And they are just that beautiful!! How can birds just make you so happy??
I have gotten away from my quick Monday morning posts – with an included verse for the week. Back in the day, I was using the verse each Monday as one for me to commit to memory. Hoping to memorize 52 new verses in a year. (Pretty sure that never fully happened.) And, I know that is a stretch for my brain these days but I still enjoy not only sharing a verse, but a simple hello type post (every now and then) is not a bad idea either. Having a post ready for Monday mornings is not always easy/convenient for me. Sometimes short and sweet is a good option.
Wishing everyone a blessed week. If the weather is extra nice in your neck of the woods, do enjoy! Around here, I feel we are getting way too used to this mild January!?!? There were quite a few visitors to the blog over the weekend. If you are returning today, thanks so much. I look forward to blog visits today.
He that shewed thee, O man, what is good;and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?” Micah 6:13
Good morning, Jennifer! The sun is shining here in my part of Virginia. The sky is such an amazing blue. I miss feeding the birds, but there is still bear activity in our neighborhood, so we haven’t put out the feeders yet. I hope you have a wonderful start to this week.
Oh wow – bears!! I sometimes think about the pesky squirrels but I’ve never considered that I might be luring bears (or any other wildlife) into the yard! WOW…maybe that is one (small) perk to living in the suburban crawl!?!
Love that you are enjoying the birds! They are fun to watch. There are few things that feel nicer than a fresh pedicure! LOL! Thank you for sharing your verse today!
Thanks, Monica!!
You have two rubbish collections a week? What! Over here we have 5 different types of bins and they are collected on a three week cycle. For example, this week our recycling bin will be emptied, next week paper and card, the week after everything that can’t be recycled. Then every week they will also collect food waste, and every second week it is garden waste. I tell you, I have to have it written down on my calendar!
It is lovely to see the birds in the garden isn’t it? Although this afternoon I heard a real squawking and there were 13 magpies in the tree. I think they are taking advantage of the fact that Coco is no longer here as she would never have stood for that many magpies in her garden, she would have been straight out the door to chase them off!
OK, Deb, I am confused just reading that pickup schedule! Putting out the trash should not be that complicated…lol!! I had to look up a magpie (just to be sure) and, I was correct, they are not too common around here. We do have bluejays, which are apparently in the same family, and although very pretty, they are annoying and not nice!
That pedicure sounds amazing.
Hena – it was, indeed, amazing!:)
Love the verse from Micah. It makes life so plain.
Our weather changed drastically over the weekend. It started snowing as we left for church yesterday and by the time SS and church were over and we headed home for the 45-minute drive that was closer to an hour yesterday, the Lord protected us as we drove through the snow and ice. Thankful for the workers who work diligently to keep the roads treated.
We enjoy watching the birds at the feeders here at our house too. 🙂
Thank the Lord for safety. Hard to believe there was snow and ice. Good reminder that, yes, it really is still winter (and not that far from home!)
Yes, friend, a great pedicure is sheer gift . . . and often a necessity! What a treat in the middle of this long, cold winter.
Hi, I have never had a pedicure or manicure. Ha! I think I would like a pedicure.
Being a gardener my hands are always in the soil, I keep my nails short. But I bet it would be fun.
We are in the 40’s today, giving me spring fever and it is only January. HELP! Ha!!
Happy New Week!
I´m with Carla on the manicure- it´s just not a ¨me¨ thing especially with playing in the dirt but even before that, I was not a manicured nail kind of gal. I have had pedicures and I like them. How nice to have beautiful birds in your yard. I wonder if your January stays mild? Ours extended forecast shows very much normal January temps; mild days heretofore have been nice!
I have never had a pedicure and now I need to know what I am missing! I have a bird feeder and a suet feeder that I can see while I do my dishes and it’s the best part of my day!!
