Happy Monday! How was the weekend? I certainly enjoyed mine. The last few days included a few of my favorite things…..

My Mother’s Day flowers are still going strong. As pretty as the day that I received them. I actually was gifted these from my neighbors. My incredibly sweet (and thoughtful) neighbors. They are the prettiest bunch of blooms nestled in a mason jar. I love them all but the small pinkish purple ones in the middle are just adorable!

Totally random. But I have returned to crochet. Better said that I have returned to meeting monthly with friends. Friends who love to crochet. A few months back, I threw in the towel. Er, the yarn. But my friends kept encouraging me – not only to keep trying with the crochet hook but, also, to join them again. That would be one of my “few favorite things”…..sweet friends who cheer you. And include you:) We had such a good discusssion while working with our hands. And my friend, who was hosting, made the most amazing lemon meringue type pie. The meringue was on the bottom. I’ve never had it like that but it was yum. So, this week (after all the encouragement), I finished a hot pad/pot holder type thingy. There is no stopping me now!!:)

Friday, we spent the entire afternoon at the Luckett’s Spring Market. Twenty-eight acres of a fun vintage market. Vendors of anything and everything vintage. This is just the entrance. There are tents, booths, barns and other buildings, and…well, a lot to see and to take in.

Not much to see in this last photo. Except the sky! (Or a bit of it.) It was a picture perfect day. Not sure what was more of my “favorite thing” here…the weather, the strolling/shopping with my hubby, or just all.the.things?? We had a great time, but we did not buy a thing. Go figure. We did, though, have an amazing grilled cheese sandwhich from a food truck:) Do I normally dine from a food truck? No, but they had me at grilled cheese and it did not disappoint. Don’t judge a book by its cover.
The weekend also included a full morning at church, doing ministry support type work, a delicious lunch with friends we have not seen in months and a nice visit with our senior friend who is currently in rehab after a fall. No photos for any of that but it did round out the weekend. I never really describe myself as busy, but I do enjoy a full weekend. Or a full day. One that is productive and accomplished. Those type of days (weeks and/or weekends) make me the happiest.
How do you describe a good weekend? Full schedule? Blank slate? Time to relax or time to get things done? Whatever makes you smile, I hope you had a nice one and that the week ahead will be a good one as well. Thanks much for stopping by the blog today!!
The Luckett’s Spring Market looked like a lot of fun, Jennifer. Plus it was an incredible day weather-wise! I attended a stitch group on Friday afternoon and then attended Open Studio at Notforgotten Farm from 10 to 4 on Saturday. This past weekend was stitching enjoyment. Hard to put a label to the weekend since they tend to have different “hats”! Some are work (chores, yard, maintenance), some are relaxing and/or entertaining, and some are mix of things. I hope you have a marvelous Monday.
The market was lovely, Robin! And your weekend sounds full – and fun – as well!! Glad you got in that stitching enjoyment!:)
I’m so pleased you have continued to crochet! It’s such a lovely pastime, onwards and upwards, time to make a blanket I think😉 I belong to a ‘knit and natter’ group who meet once a week and we all encourage each other (and help with any unpicking!) They are all knitters, I am the only one who crochets!
Hi Deb – so glad to “hear” from you today! I have missed you! I have to say the name for your group, Knit and Natter, just makes me smile!! Who knows, I just might accomplish a banket!! Thanks for stopping by!
My weekend is detailed in my Monday blog. It was good!! I enjoyed reading about yours. That market sounds amazing! Have a blessed week ahead!
I look forward to jumping over to read about your weekend!! Glad you stopped by here today –
Markets like that are always fun, and so many things to look at. At planned to attend church, but my dearest was having a slow day so we decided to rest and have our own service. Then our son, Myk and his lovely wife, Chelenne came over and brought lunch. Delicious sandwiches and clam chowder soup. Great visiting and looking through old pictures.
Busy week ahead, Women’s Bible Study and a doctors appointment and getting ready for a road trip to Tucson to see a friend I’ve known for over 80 year…can you believe that. Our family moved across the street from them when I was 4 and she was 5. My forever friend.
I enjoyed reading about your weekend. Your flowers are just gorgeous! How kind of your neighbor. I like for my weekends to have a mix of plans and plenty of downtime as well. We´ve had amazing weather recently and I don´t take it for granted! Glad you´ve been blessed with some nice weather as well. And I´m glad (not surprised) that you have so many wonderful friends from long time friends to craft friends to neighbor friends :). I hope your Monday was a good one!
What a nice and lovely weekend. That pie sounds delicious. I have never heard of the meringue on the bottom. Lemon meringue is one of my favorites.
I tried to crochet one time and it went bad. LOL!
So glad that you had a full weekend, dear Jennifer. Your pictures from the Spring Market brought back memories of a similar type of venue that I visited in Maine with my daughter-in-law. I loved it! And, unlike you, I did come home with some treasures. 🙂
Your Mother’s Day flowers are so pretty! And good for you for pursuing crocheting again…and for the friends who have encouraged you to do so.
I love a stroll through a market like that 🙂 Sound like a great time.
Such a pretty posy of flowers from your kind neighbours.
Great to have friends that have encouraged you to try crochet again but also just spending time enjoying each others company. Long may it continue. Well done on finishing the hotpad/holder, it looks great and the colour is bright and cheerful.
Sometimes a busy weekend filled with events is fun but I think it would be too exhausting every weekendfor me. Glad you had a lovely time at the market.
