Happy Hump Day, friends. And Happy Hodge Podge Day! No reason for an introduction, so I will get right to the questions. Let’s see….
1. What most recently gave you goose bumps? I suppose this time of the year, goose bumps are most associated with being scared or feeling similarly creepy. However, I think of emotional goose bumps. Feeling overwhelmed with sentiment or emotion. This most often happens to me when I am listening to music…especially when I am alone in the car. Not sure exactly why that it, but ’tis true. My heart can be heavy, overwhelmed or just conflicted and an unexpected song will come on that perfectly encourages me. Speaks to my situation. Or just brings peace – or a smile – and it seems as if the Lord is speaking directly to me. Those moments never fail to, literally, give me goose bumps.
2. What does Halloween look like in your home and/or neighborhood these days? Do you participate? We do not participate in Halloween. As far as the neighborhood, I’ve noticed less decorating. But those who do decorate seem to go all out. I guess it is “go big or don’t bother” around here. Sadly, it seems, those who “go big” do so with all the gore and grossness of the holiday.
3. Pumpkin, sunflower, sesame, poppy, chia…your favorite seed on the list? What’s something you like to make/eat that calls for one of these seeds in the recipe? I enjoy seeds. Any seeds. All the seeds. Hemp hearts are probably my favorite but, on this list, I would choose chia seeds simply because I include them the most often. In yogurt. In smoothies, etc. I love most any bread that is seeded. The more seeds the better. Sunflower seed bread sound delish right about now!
4. What’s the most (or one of the most) ‘fall photos’ you’ve ever taken? Share it here. Just one.

This photo is about four years old taken during an afternoon at a local pumpkin patch/fall festival. Pumpkins. Hay stalks. Cute kiddos worn out from the fun and squinting to keep the beautiful fall sun out of their eyes!!:)
5. Somehow we’re rolling in to November. If your October were a chapter in a book, what would the title of this chapter be? A Season to Refresh (October has been a lovely one!)
6. Insert your own random thought here. Nothing super deep here. But the other day I saw this in a Target ad. Are you joking? What is Nabisco thinking? That has to somehow be illegal in at least 48 of our states!?! It is a hard no.
Another picture that was a bit of a stumper this week was one sent to me by my cousin. Apparently, she was going through old photos and found a picture of my mom and I from 1987. She thought it was a good one and shared it with me. (That was really nice of her as we don’t really stay in contact with each other.) But I was a bit confused. I shared the photo with my brother, my son and even my husband. All of them said somethings similar. “You look really nice….but your hair was really short.” Or, “I don’t remember your hair being so curly.” Um, because it wasn’t. That isn’t me. But everyone (including my husband) was sure it was me. Well, a much younger me. Is it true we all have “a twin” somewhere??
I didn’t want to be rude but did eventually reach out to my cousin. Apparently, the photo was taken at a family wedding (that I did not attend) and no one seems to know who this look-alike is. She is, by the way, for sure and certain talking to my mother. That much I know:)
