Happy Friday! And hooray if you have survived the heatwave that has blanketed much of our country! I know everyone has been hot so I want belabor it; however, just for documenting purposes….it has been in the triple digits here! Without a single breeze or puff of air. And there is no break in the near future. Our holiday tomorrow is supposed to insanely hot. Just sayin.
And with that, there is not much else to post about today. I have rehearsed just about everything red, white and blue that I can think of…well, sorta. But you get the idea. Just for fun, I will finish out the week with some patriotic This or That. However you celebrate this weekend (if you dare to venture outside), I pray everyone has a fun and safe Fourth of July!! Regularly scheduled blogging will resume on Monday….

Burger, for sure. Just not beef burger (um, hard no). Hot dogs are also a hard no. Just sayin…in case you ever want to invite me to your cookout.
Big city show. I really like a good show! There will be no DC show for me this year. Everyone has convinced me that it probably is not wise. And did I mention, it is going to be HOT!??!
Sparklers. They are fun. They are pretty. And I have absolutely no idea what a pop-it is??
Popsicles. I suppose. I don’t like watermelon but can, truthfully, pass on a popsicle. They just say sticky mess to me.
Red, white and blue outfit. Of course!
Pool party BBQ. I’m not a beach girl. Just a plain BBQ sounds good to me.
Patriotic music. It is the Fourth, right? A fireworks show set to patriotic music is the best!
Flag cake. Not much difference in cake and cupcakes…but, I’ll say cake.
Skipping the crowds…especially if it means missing the parade. We took our children to the Fourth of July parade every year. For many years. And we had a great time, but my parade season of life is over.
Chairs and coolers. See above reference to this season of life…and hand me a chair! Thank you:)
Cute answers to the questions, Jennifer. I think we must be twins somewhere along the line because our answers are the same all the way through. 🙂 Happy 4th of July, my friend. xx
Catch the fireworks presentation from Mt. Vernon on TV (A Capitol Fourth will be airing the fireworks at the end of the show) tonight, Jennifer! You will beat the heat and the crowds. Enjoyed your Patriotic this or that!
Let’s see:
Burger, Fireworks on the TV, Sparklers (have no idea what the pop-its are), Watermelon, RWB attire, No to pool party or beach, definitely patriotic music, Cupcakes (but wouldn’t say no to cherry pie), Skipping the crowd (see my first two sentences), and Chairs (but in the A/C).
Have a wonderful holiday weekend!
Happy 250th Independence Day, my friend.
I will go with all the “This” list until the last two, which I will switch over to the “That” list!! Happy 4th and week ahead!!
I prefer a good burger, but to keep it simple, we’re going with hot dogs and brats. I’m not into fireworks at all since it’s so dry here; it just doesn’t make sense. If I had to choose, it would be a city fireworks display over the Sacramento River. Fireworks and sparklers are illegal in my county, but they’re legal in the next county and on the Native American Rancheria, which still doesn’t make sense. I love a good watermelon. I can’t find my usual patriotic top, so I’ll wear a summer one. I’d love a private pool party, but that’s not happening, so a BBQ it is. We’ll play patriotic music and have festive mini cupcakes, though I’m not sure what others are bringing. Most importantly, we’re staying home and avoiding the crowds.
Stay cool this weekend.
Happy 4th of July!!
I am not a huge fan of watermelon as well. In September I can find some homegrown in Wisconsin, they have a flavor. Otherwise most of the watermelon in the super markets around here have no taste.
Have a blessed weekend.
Love your answers!!! I love when you do these.
1. hot dog (ALL BEEF ONLY)
2. Sparklers
3. Neither
4. Red, White and Blue attire
5. Pool Party BBQ although I LOVE THE BEACH to me this is more low key for fourth
6. Patriotic Music
7.Festive Cupcakes (like both really)
8. Skipping CROWDS
9.Chairs and Coolers but only because of my season of life. I do normally like a good picnic.
Its been lower than 100 here, so I call that a win for us. Usually by this time in the summer we are BAKING. I actually worked in my garage one day this week. (: I’ll eat all the hot dogs you don’t want!
It was fun to read your answers Jennifer. Thank you for sharing. A belated Jappy 4th of July!
Happy that should have read 🙄
Happy fourth! This weather was ridiculous but I survived by hiding inside my house!!!
