And, just like that, it is the end of another month. I think I say that every month. I know, for sure, I said it in May (as I copied and pasted it here) but having missed the first three weeks of June, well, the end of month (blog speaking) really did sneak up on me! It is time for this month’s Share Four Somethings post. Truth be told, I almost completely forgot about it. I hope I have something to say that is not simply a repeat of last month. We will see. In June, something….
I LOVED – was having two friends invite me to join their Bible study. Or Bible discussion over lunch. It was casual – as in, just friends. But it was also very helpful, instructive and interesting. I was challenged by both of their thoughts and insights. We discussed I Kings 18…the story of Elijah’s showdown on Mount Carmel, a chapter I have read many times. But we “dug in” as we read over the last two weeks and really had good thoughts to share with each other. Apparently, they meet every other week. And they included me again:) Of course, I have also loved the sunshine and long days that are June. I love sunshine! It could even be included in “something that sustained me,” but I suppose I will say something….
THAT SUSTAINED ME – was my sweet family…..especially as I despaired of every feeling completely well again. Yes, I can be dramatic. They were not only patient but encouraging. I love them. There were also quite a bit of Aleve, two rounds of antibiotics and a healthy dose of pain meds sustaining me as well. Just sayin.
I AM CARRYING FORWARD – the fun of getting ready for the big Fourth of July celebration next week! I put out a few things around the house…which I did not photograph yet. I just quickly snapped this one. Here’s looking at you, Maria!:) I did buy two garden flags which actually include “250” but I have not put them out yet. I need to refresh the flowers on the front porch. Spring’s pansies are looking very tired. I was thinking of doing some red, white and blue flowers in my pots. It might sound hokey but I’ve seen some really pretty (um, festive) inspiration on Pinterest. We will see. I also picked up (yet one more) patriotic tee yesterday. Now all we need are some concrete plans for the big day. Hmmm –
I AM MAKING SPACE FOR – new flowers and, apparently, more t-shirts! I have also made more space in my mornings for working out. Most of my calorie buring/working is walking. Ok, all of it. But I am trying to do some strength training. The only time to guarantee I will get it done is in the morning and, so, I have added it to beginning of my day. Honestly, I’m not thrilled. It feels like “working out” and I don’t like working out. But I will stick with it for awhile and see if it really makes all the difference.
And, that’s it for another month. What have you been loving in May? Were you hit with the heat this month? Goodness but it has been warm in some places! Are you making space for kanything special lately? Let me know in the comments and I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend ahead. As always, thanks for stopping by today!
Let’s see, in June…
I loved the little bit of rain we got because every little bit helps in these drought conditions. Friendships (old and new) sustained me. I am carrying forward one old stitching project and some “standard” activities into July. I am making space (or I should say time) for an orthopedic appointment. Have a wonderful weekend, Jennifer.
Goodbye June… I cannot believe it.
I started a weight training class back in April. I hurt at the start, but now I am getting stronger and stronger. I can say it has helped me. You Can Do It!! 🙂
I hate working out too. I was just lamenting that turning 65 has been one of those years that I have felt the age and working out has been the thing that has slipped. Maybe you can motivate me!
I wish I had been a little more thoughtful on choosing some red, white and blue flowers but I have lots of pink and yellow and some purple. Flowers are always good – not matter the color.
