Good Monday morning! Outside my window, there is plenty of winter. A couple of inches of fresh snow, more than just a bit of ice (which fell as rain after the snow but then froze), and some very cold temperatures. It was not quite the winter storm they predicted but I am still grateful to be snug at home today. Nowhere to go and grateful for the fire today! I have to admit that I do not miss having dogs of our own during these frigid days with icy sidewalks. Makes “grand dogs” even grander:)
I also must admit, I did not do a great job of rehearsing my memory verse this past week. But I will continue to work on it. I have a memory system that I believe I have shared on the blog before; however, perhaps I will do that again sometime soon. Committing verses to memory is definitely a work in progress. I still want to begin another new one this week as well. A few verses actually –
Matthew 6:19-21 “Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.”
Whether you are working on memorizing with me or not, I hope these verses will encourage you as a new week begins. Here’s to focusing our thoughts and setting our hearts on Heaven! I hope you will join me again on Wednesday and Friday. Until then, happy Monday.
