Happy Monday friends! How was your weekend? On Saturday, I took the hashbrown casserole to our monthly ladies’ meeting. It was a hit. I basically googled “Cracker Barrel Copycat Hashbrown Casserole” and ended up with a winner. One 9×13 pan almost was not enough – which I never could have imagined! If you are in need of a yummy side dish for breakfast, this is worth a try.
Yesterday, in Junior Church, we finished up our Father’s Day projects. Super simple but we certainly have had fun working on them. Tomorrow starts VBS. I’m not involved this year…but it definitely seems to be the season. Every church on the block is advertising VBS. I hope the weather holds out.
I’m really hoping for good weather as we head off for our quick trip to Lancaster. Rain or shine – we will enjoy ourselves but staying dry is always preferred. We leave tomorrow but I will have a post on Wednesday so I hope you will stop by later in the week. (I might be slow on answering comments, though.)
No verse this morning. However, my husband recently brought home a poem that someone shared at a men’s meeting he attended. I will not share the whole thing (and no author was given) but some of the stanzas were thought-provoking as well as encouraging. I’ll leave just a few of them here. There were more but these are the ones that really caught my attention. God’s ways are, indeed, so different from ours….
Have a great week my friends!!
I asked God to give me happiness. God said, No. I give you blessings. Happiness is up to you.
I asked God to spare me pain. God said, No. Suffering draws you apart from worldly cares and brings you closer to me.
I asked God for all things that I might enjoy life. God said, No. I will give you life so that you may enjoy all things.
I’m so glad everyone loved that casserole! It’s one of my favorite things to eat when I eat at Cracker Barrell. Oh, the days of VBS! I used to love working that with my boys…two of them attended and two of them helped in the younger grades. Those were the days…but I also remember there being no tired like VBS tired. Ours always started at eight, so that meant we had to be there at 7:30, which is early to be out during summer time! I can’t wait to hear about your trip and I hope you both have the best time!
No tired like VBS tired – girl, you are so right!! I, for one, am just a bit old for VBS tired:) Have a great week ahead!
What a great poem! I will read those lines to the family tonight. I will also Google the hash brown recipe you mentioned. It sounds really good. I hope you have a great trip to Lancaster.
Thanks, Maria. I hope you have a great week!
