Good Monday morning – and Hello summer!! Insert my happy dance:) Exactly how I feel about summer is no secret. I really enjoy it. Yes, it is hot. Humidity is the pits and mosquitoes are not my friends. But the perks – all that is so summer happy – completely outweigh the negative in my book. Here’s to a sun-drenched first day of summer…complete with a tall glass of really cold iced tea!
I hope everyone had a nice Father’s Day yesterday. These types of holidays (well, most holidays) seem to revolve around food. Not that I’m complaining:) We had a nice dinner out. My husband did not have his favorite meal (ha!) but he did enjoy some pepper encrusted sirloin! I also lost my voice over the weekend….maybe an extra gift for him!! Ahem.
Today’s verse is from our pastor’s message yesterday. A great encouragement – and challenge – for dads…and all of us. Whether we have children – at home or grown – or even if we do not, all of us have others that we can exhort, instruct, encourage, and for whom we can model Christ. We need to invest in our children – yes – but we also need to invest in people!! Who are you investing in…. encouraging them to “walk worthy of God”??
“As ye know how we exhorted and comforted and charged every one one of you, as a father doth his children, that ye would walk worthy of God, who hath called you unto his kingdom and glory.” I Thessalonians 2:11-12
Model Christ. I like that. I like the idea of radiating the light that comes from knowing God and having a relationship with Him. Sounds like your Father’s Day was delicious!!
It was, indeed, a delicious Father’s Day! So happy to have to stop by… Hope you are having a wonderful week!!
I’m celebrating summer with you, Jennifer! After all we’ve endured in the past season, there truly is so much to savor and rejoice over!
I totally agree….savor it well, my friend! So glad you stopped by today. Have a blessed day!!
