I Won! and Had a Great Time

I went to a ladies’ conference this past Saturday – not at my home church but one here in the area. What a lovely day!! The theme was “Feed Your Soul” and the decorations, etc. centered around coffee and chocolate! Even the ice-breaker games involved chocolate – what’s not to love??!
The centerpieces on the lunch tables were hurricane vases filled with coffee beans and a candle on the top. It smelled wonderful in that room!! There were also some smaller vases layered with chocolate and white chips – and then a candle. It was really cute – and an idea to tuck away in the memory bank. (Of course, the memory bank just ain’t what she used to be…and so I blog!) The cellophane gift bags in the picture were the gifts given away to all the ladies in attendance – very nice. And the Mary Kay gift set….well, I won a door prize! Woo Hoo…and I always said, “I never win anything!” But I did. I really liked how they did door prizes. She would call on ladies to stand – if you ever worked at a coffee shop, for instance – and then narrow the group down until one or two were standing and won a prize. At one point she asked all ladies to stand who had lead someone to the Lord in the last week……seven ladies stood!! How exciting. There was also one other interesting door prize category – which led to an even more intersting trip down memory lane at our house – that I will tell you about tomorrow.

And since I’m “on a winning streak” 🙂 I wanted to tell you about a great giveaway over here. Tracy’s had several giveaways over the last days but, alas, I did not win…but this one could be my big chance! 🙂 Give away, she has a really cute blog, too! H

Hope you are having a great Monday. I’m later than usual posting but was out early…shopping:) Found Miss Roo the cutest Easter dress!! Oh, I remember those days. (If I ever get the photos of dad scanned and posted…maybe I can get a couple of my sweeties in the Easter finest!) Thank you, Lord, for precious memories.

  1. Hey Jennifer!
Sounds like you had a wonderful time at the ladies conference. And I'll do the happy dance with you for winning the door prize! You've always been a winner in my book!

  2. Good Morning! I don't know how I missed this yesterday as I always watch carefully for your posts…YAY on winning the door prize. Always fun. And sounds like a great conference. I haven't been to one in a while and it really does sound good. Thank you for your prayers. I soo appreciate them. I am doing soo much better but still tire soo easily. I am taking it easy this week for sure so I'll be totally up to snuff next week. Thanks for the prayers for my total recovery and for understanding how much her visit means to me. Have a wonderful day. Hugs, Debbie

  3. I love ladies conferences! Always come back refreshed and renewed. Winning a prize was a special treat! Thanks for sharing the link to the give a way, I"m headed there now!

  4. Hi Jenn,
so glad you had such a great time at the conference. Fun to win a door prize too, how nice! We are like that we never win anything either,
but once we won a cheese dish. it is a wooden bottom with a dome top.
Very nice, and I still have it, but it has dried bagels in it now!! lol
But we were amazed when we won it, it was at hubbies work Christmas party years ago now. Don't think we have won anything since. lol
I have to say we don't eat out as much as we used to cause it is harder to find things on the menu
that we can eat now, so we tend to get the same thing every time.
But we do get takeout at times, especially on Sunday. Have you ever had Arby's gyro sandwiches??
We are hooked, we have been having them every Sunday for over a month now. They were a new find!! lol
So we tend to wear it out and then find something new and then wear it out!! lol
You have a great day hon,
    Blessings, Nellie
