A New Andy…..and Cupcake Heaven

Last week this time, I was headed out of the house…just to get out of the house. (Thankfully, there has been no more snow and the week has been a tad more “normal”.) I ended up having lunch with a girlfriend, eating way too many fries which I normally can pass up….totally blaming my cabin fever…and then browsed a few antique stores. It was such a nice afternoon. I even found a too cute purse which is unusual for me. I tend to have a hard time finding a purse I like; who knew – I needed to be looking in the antique stores?!?!
Then on Saturday, Hubbie and I went out again. We scouted around a small historical town not far from home. When I say small, think a couple streets – but we had a good time on those few streets. We found a new Mexican restaurant – locally owned and very delicious (remember, I’m not a huge Mexican food fan…that whole “all the food running together on the plate” thing) and then an old house converted into an antique store. All the different rooms each had somewhat of a theme. I discovered this sweet little Andy and just couldn’t leave him there…..I think his “wish” was for me to take him home:)
And – then – we discovered it! Yes, we found Cupcake Heaven!! And, it was heavenly. Cutest little cafe (think tea room of sorts) with 12-13 varieties of homemade cupcakes and several fancy coffees to go with!! What more could I ask for?? I had a cookies and creme cupcake but definitely think I need to return once a week for the next three months in order to try them all!! Cupcakes are definitely not just for kids anymore!
We picked up a few other things at one other consignment store and then bought something totally fun for our new house. But, you will have to wait until next week to see what that was (basically until I upload some more pictures..ha). Have a wonderful weekend. I am looking for some serious melting to take place……please!

  1. Andy is adorable and I am quite sure he DID need to come home with you. And Cupcake Heaven? How wonderful is that. I am soo in the mood for something like that. I will have to think about something else now. SIGH… Have a wonderful week-end. It is suppose to rain ALL week-end here. Hugs, Debbie

  2. Love your little Andy! I wouldn't have been able to pass him up either! NOR would I have passed up those wonderful cupcakes…yum! (Makes me wanna go in the kitchen & bake some!) Anxious to see your consignment store finds! = )

I know what you mean about cabin fever! Makes you want to eat anything that's not nailed down! Hurry springtime!

  3. Hi Jen! Just got back from Disney today and I am so pooped! Riley went to bed at 6:30 this evening because she didn't nap at ALL today. She was a REAL trooper!

Anyways, next time you come down here you'll have to go to SWEETS with me, our gourmet cupcake place, and see if it compares 🙂

    Love and miss you!

    Erica

  4. Oh, I love the Andy you brought home. Made me think about a birthday cake I had when I was a little girl. One year I had a Raggedy Ann and the next year, I had Raggedy Andy! I haven't thought about that in a long time!
I know I would love Cupcake Heaven!!! Yum. Have a terrific weekend.

your friend and hubby. Always so fun to find new places to eat or quaint places like the cupcake place.
How neat is that, hope you took some cupcake pics, if not, it will give you a good reason to go back there!! lol
Glad it isn't snowing anymore, know you are happy about that. It is gonna be 70 today, which sounds delightful. We are gonna be doing
some painting in the bathroom today hopefully.
Got a visit from the animal kingdom this morning, will share it soon. Delightful!! Just love those sort of things!
Have a great day my friend,
    Blessings, Nellie
