Counting the Days

THANKFUL THURSDAY….oh my heart is happy – and grateful! My airman (aka my sweet oldest son, Jordan) is coming home!! Ever since we learned of his deployment several months agao, we were told he would have leave to come home before heading out. And we have been waiting to know “WHEN???” ever since – and finally some word this week!

He will leave next week for several weeks of pre-deployment training (Nevada, I think??) and then when he gets back – he is coming home!! To say we are ecstatic would be an understatement! I haven’t harrassed that boy in over a year – well, at least not in person! But, first I really want to hug his neck!! And then make him some “real food”!:)

Yes, that phone call just made my week (my month!)….and I’m also thankful today for:

*our gorgeous weather lately – a small respite from the super hot temperature
*opening the windows and a bit of fresh air in the house…love it!
*time spent with a friend yesterday
*a sparkling clean refrigerator – not a chore I like but I love the end result
*thrift store bargains
*cute Fourth of July t-shirts
*Ladies’ Day Out:)
*generous friends who shared so much for my daughter yesterday – such a blessing!
*my sweet Hubbie, and

*all of your sweet comments yesterday regarding “My Three Favorite Men” photo! All of you make me smile! Have a Very Thankful Thursday!!

  6. I just happened on to your blog as I clicked Next Blog this evening. I just wanted to let you know that your blog is a blessing to me. What a wonderful testimony you have, with the way God is helping you cope with the death of your son. I'm also a Christian wife and mother and my heart hurts for you. Thank you for sharing your heart, so that you can be a blessing to others.
