Happy Wednesday! I hope everyone’s November has gotten off to a good start. It has been unseasonably warm (and really dry!) around here but, oh my, I have been enjoying the sunny days and mild temperatures. I hear friends say often, “It just doesn’t feel like November.” All I can say is, “That is not a problem!” I am still struggling with it being dark by 5:30 but I refuse to ruin the mood! Let’s jump right into this month’s Currently post. Of course, the rest of the link-up can be found here Jen’s blog here. As of this sixth day of November, currently, I am……
LOVING – the weather….or did I already mention that? Ah, yes. I am also loving the last of the fall leaves. All of the yellow ones seem to have fallen but the dark red ones are still dotting the landscapes. And can I admit that I am loving the fact all the Halloween decorations have come down in the neighborhood? Now all we have to do is get rid of the politcal signs, and all will be well. I will say that one house on my street has already been decked out for Christmas! Lights on the bushes. Wreaths. Not one but two trees fully decorated in the windows. Yes, I have an opinion about this….but, I am going to let that go. You’re welcome.
LOOKING FORWARD TO – a girl’s weekend in two days. My friend and I are driving to North Carolina for a long weekend with another friend of ours. It is a “first” in several ways for us but, especially, for one friend who has not done a girls’ roadtrip before. I know we are going to have a great time. These girls are great friends and I am looking forward to the laughs and the good conversation. And, honestly, I am just looking forward to getting away. I don’t often feel this way but sometimes you need a break from the every day. That has been me lately and I am very much looking forward to getting away.
SMELLING – nothing in particular as I type this post; however, lately I have enjoyed the smell of my essential oil. I mentioned this not too long ago (in this post) but failed to say which brand of oils I really like. I always order from Revive. Their prices are reasonable, the quality is excellent and they don’t charge shipping. Shipping when on-line shopping is often a deal breaker for me. I also love the smell of our first morning coffee. My husband makes the coffee every morning and that fresh brewed coffee scent greets me as soon as I hit the landing downstairs. It is wonderful. I actually found a (slightly) chocolate flavored coffee that I am enjoying. I don’t usually like flavored coffees but this one is subtle and very smooth, and I really like it. Which means they will probably discontinue it the next time I am at Sprouts.
PREPARING – for my trip. I put together a little thank you/hostess gift for my friend. Those are really fun to shop for…and to put together. I also am trying to be a help to the one who will fill in for me on Sunday – with the Junior Church class. She doesn’t really need my help but just trying to make it as easy as possible for her. I am so grateful for Lena. There was also a time when I did quite a bit for my husband (and the kids at the time) when I would go away. I would leave food prepared (with meal plan on the fridge) and other things I thought would make life easy. But, honestly, he is very self-suffiicent. There is very little I have to do in order to walk out the door….and that is a nice feeling.
THANKFUL FOR – Lena, as I mentioned. I cannot imagine our Sunday mornings without her help. She has a servant’s heart and just jumps in every morning however I need it. She has an uncanny way of knowing exactly what I need finished/started/worked through and not only makes my life so easy but makes the whole morning come together. She does not read my blog but, honestly, what would I do without you, Lena?
A few other things I am thankful for: a husband who does not mind running the ac…even in November. With the warmer than usual temperatures, I love the windows open during the day (for the most part) but I like the room to be cool when I sleep. I am also thankful that my husband is feeling better. He still has bit of lingering cough (only in the morning) but seems to be 100 percent otherwise! He was not feeling well for almost two weeks. So unusual for him. And…I am thankful that I did not get it. Whatever it was. So thankful!!
Well, friends, that is another Currently post. This one seemed a bit of struggle to get together. But, it is in the books. The blogging side of my brain is apparently already on vacation. That said, I do not think there will be a post on Friday. And there may or may not be one on Monday. The plan is to prepare ahead of time….we will see if that plan comes together. As always, glad you stopped by today.
Your upcoming girls trip sounds fun! Our weather has been lovely, here, too. The political signs don´t bother me… but just because the vast majority of them were for ¨my guys.¨Two of my neighbors have Christmas lights outside already. It seems a bit early to me though the lights are pretty! I used to LOVE the smell of coffee before I lost my sense of smell. Have a great day!
Maria – do you think you will recover your sense of smell? I honestly cannot imagine having none at all!
I could say the exact same about our weather! I am loving this weather even though I know we really need some rain.. I put our air conditioning back on today and I’m glad my husband doesn’t seem to mind one way or the other either. I hope you have a fabulous time on your girls’ trip!
Thanks, Joanne. I am looking forward to it!
I can’t wait for weather that allows me to open windows 🙂 Right now we are still hot and muggy in Texas. Yuck! We keep our air on 70 all the time.
I relate to the blogging brain having left the building 🙂 Sometimes you just don’t know what to say.
Have a wonderful week!
Hello! Have a fabulous girl’s trip! Would you believe I have never gone on one?? I wouldn’t know where to start. Does that sound weird?? In any case, I hope you all have a blast!
The weather has been so nice and unseasonably warm here. I am enjoying afternoon walks to enjoy the leaves changing colors on the trees. I hope you have a wonderful time on your getaway with your friends.
Thanks for the blog visit too!
Jennifer, thank you for mentioning the brand name of the essential oils that you use. I purchase from them as well as Mountain Rose Herbs. And I understand about the free shipping making a difference in how you purchase.
I know you will enjoy your Girl’s Road trip!
Have a great trip!! And thanks for the thought about the Christmas items, I am ok with it–I used not be…but you know, its ok now. I quite enjoy seeing this, lol. We have neighbors who have already put up their Christmas lights and my first thought, was like, nopeeeeee…but you know, its ok now, LOL. Wishing you a beautiful Sunday, smiles.
I hope you had a fun trip – I bet you enjoyed your time away with the ‘girls’!
Just catching up on your posts–I hope your weekend brought much joy and peace! I hope to read about it in one of your next posts.
