Hooray, it’s Monday:) Welcome to a new week! We are doing all we can to find a sun-drenched spot around here! Sure missing those hints of spring we had a week ago…it was a chilly weekend!! We did manage to get out and about but were lucky not to get blown away! Headed this morning for monthly “wives” fellowship and breakfast!? My husband heads up a men’s group at church. Several of the retired (aka older) gentlemen get together once a month for breakfast and some discussion. One morning, a couple of the wives tagged along and enjoyed breakfast on the other side of the restaurant. And, well, the rest is history. We’re still tagging along…and enjoy our time together as well. I chuckle when I tell friends I’m headed to the men’s breakfast fellowship!
Later this week, here on the blog, I will have my monthly Share Four Somethings post and, as well, my second “installment” of Doing, Cooking and Giving Thanks. I hope you will stop by again. I so appreciate all the comments and emails last week. They are always so encouraging! Until then, here is a verse from my Bible reading this week. Have a great week, friends! As always, Happy Monday!
I Corinthians 15:58 “Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye steadfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.”
You changed your profile picture! Very pretty! And that cute little guy you are holding looks like a sweetie. I, too, enjoy Mondays. They are my housecleaning and laundry day, and I SO enjoy not only a clean, organized house, but the vacuuming that brings that about. (Yes, vacuuming is my favorite household chore.)
Blessings,
Patti
I love that you go the men’s fellowship breakfast! That makes me smile. I think it’s great that you all take advantage of the opportunity to get out and get to know one another as your husbands meet! I am missing our sunshine from the weekend- it’s pretty rainy and gloomy here all week, so I’ll be anticipating our next pretty day. I’ll look forward to coming back this week!
What a wonderful idea to have a lady’s breakfast while the men are having their men’s breakfast. Of course, it’s possible because the children are grown!
Yes, indeed. Children are grown…all sorts of possibilities:)
Why shouldn’t the wives have a nice breakfast out too! Sounds like a great start to the week. I enjoy Mondays too, a day to myself sets me up for the next two days of looking after grandchildren. We had a very stormy weekend and a lot of people around here spent their Monday clearing debris from the garden and fixing fence panels or walls that had been blown down. I am so thankful that we remained unscathed, although our neighbours had two fence panels blow down so we have to keep an eye on Coco when she goes out there to make sure she doesn’t suddenly escape into the wrong garden!
I am so glad that you were spared damage – or hurt – from your recent storms! I heard those winds were fierce!! Coco would just want to be neighborly:)
