Happy Monday, friends! I hope you had a blessed weekend. Mine was…well, rather “normal” and isn’t that wonderful? I did have a few plans with friends that I needed to cancel (or shall I say postpone?) but, all in all, life here at home felt the most normal that it has in weeks – and I’m thrilled. Normal is looking good:) I did have one friend visit on Saturday afternoon and that was wonderful. Two hours of just chatting. Oh so nice. And she came bearing lemon flavored Oreos! Have you ever tried them? I had actually never heard of them and I will admit that I was a skeptical. I’m a bit of a purist when it comes to Oreos but these were quite tasty. The lemon was very mild and the whole thing was just light and very spring-like:)
Speaking of spring, we have had so many more blooms lately. I know all of the nay-sayers are sure that a winter storm is still lurking somewhere “just around the next corner” but I disagree. I think we have been blessed with the mildest winter ever and, now, spring is actually on its way! And I could not be happier.
I have a friend coming over today. We have been friends – besties – for over five decades. I am so blessed! We don’t live as close anymore (still in the same state but it seems much further) but she is in town for a few days. I am so looking forward to this afternoon. She is also bringing her service dog in training. She is training the sweetest lab (in a two year program) that will eventually be given to a wounded warrior. Her dog goes literally everywhere with her. I’m excited to meet him as well:) Am I supposed to greet him…in the silly goofy (playful) way that we usually greet dogs? I’m not sure. I mean, is he always working?? I guess I will find out.
Typically, I like to include a verse – for encouragement, for instruction or both – on Mondays but I recently read this quote from Dwight Moody and have been mulling it other often every since reading it. So, let me share it today. Let me know your thoughts. I will plan to share mine later this week…probably on Friday as I hope to share my monthly Currently post on Wednesday. I hope you will come back for those posts. Have a wonderful week. And, here is the quote:
“Our greatest fear should not be of failure, but of succeeding at something that doesn’t really matter.” ― D.L. Moody
That is a very good quote! I bet you can’t wait to see your lifelong friend with her service dog. My friend trains guide dogs for the blind and I think they are taught that when they have their special harness on they are working, but when they have a normal collar and lead they are off duty so I am sure you will be able to make a fuss of him as you would any other dog!
It sounds like you are recuperating well – keep doing what you are doing x
Sounds like you will have a wonderful day, today!!!! God bless you as you go about your day and week ahead and thank you for the quote – it’s a keeper. : )

Good morning! I love that quote and it’s so true. I think that’s one of my most prayed prayers, is to truly know what’s important to God and be doing that and not something that doesn’t really matter. And how wonderful to have friends that want to visit! Hope you have a great week!
That’s a great quote. I just sent to a couple of people. I hope you have a great time with your friend!
Hi Jennifer~ It’s good to hear that life is getting back to normal, I hope you get there very soon. We still have full blown winter here in Idaho . . . I’ll trade you ;0) I do like lemon Oreos, of course, I love anything lemon. I like them better than original Oreos. It sounds like you have wonderful friends! I hope you really enjoy your visit with her and her, dog in training. What a noble and good thing to do. Your quote is perfect for me today. I need to remember that all those little things should be challenges as well. Have a great evening! Hugs, Barb
Hello! I am happy that things are returning to normal for you. I pray you will continue to find comfort in normalcy very soon. We have not had much winter here in Pennsylvania at all. I think March usually sends us some surprises, though! I hope you had a wonderful visit with your friend. Those are the best days, aren’t they? Have a cozy evening, my friend.
