Trading my ashes for beauty….that He might be glorified. Isaiah 61:3
Who am I? A wife for almost 40 years. A mom for over 36 years. A sister and a friend, of course. Each of these help describe me. But, even more, I have been a Christian since accepting Him as my Savior when I was 12 years old and, this truth defines each area of my life. I have enjoyed some mountain top experiences but have been through some very deep valleys as well. Valleys of incredible grief and even pits of depression. However, most of my days are ordinary, routine kind of days. But in every one of my days, God has been faithful. He has walked with me whatever the day. He strengthens, comforts, encourages and blesses me with life "most abundant."
A favorite life verse: The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. John 10:10
Why do I write? Though not quite as private as my dad, I am definitely my father's daughter. I find it difficult to share. And to let others in. But I do love to write. I love to put words into sentences and sentences in paragraphs that help express my thoughts. I hope my words help me share my heart. Share the life that God has given me and all that He has done for me and through me. I write with the hope of giving Him at least a bit of the glory He is due.
A verse to guide my writing: That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ. I Peter 1:7

Good Monday Morning! And welcome to new friends. There were several new visitors to the blog over the weekend which is always fun. So glad when everyone stops by! I hope everyone had a blessed weekend. We have had the most unseasonably delightful weather (read that – warm and full of sunshine) lately and I have been one happy girl!:) We rode out through the country on Saturday taking the long way to one of our favorite restaurants – just because and to take in the fall colors. This morning, most of the trees are more bare than colorful but just 48 hours ago, they were still drenched in color. One more reminder to take opportunities when you can…..so much in life is only for a time and, well, time is fleeting. I sound like an old lady but it really is true:)
We had a great day in church yesterday. We have been enjoying some extra (Thanksgiving-inspired) fun in Junior Church lately….and the preaching has been convicting as well as encouraging lately! I am meditating on a couple of verses from last night’s message. They are from the book of Jeremiah -one we don’t often read or study but so applicable to our day. Just thought I would share them this morning before I get started with my day. It is worth considering: what do I glory in? I hope you will come back on Wednesday and Friday. Have a wonderful day, friends!
Jeremiah 9:23-24 “Thus saith the LORD, Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, neither let the mighty man glory in his might, let not the rich man glory in his riches: But let him that glorieth glory in this, that he understandeth and knoweth me, that I am the LORD which exercise lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness, in the earth: for in these things I delight, saith the LORD.”
Oh we really do need to appreciate all the opportunities that pass our way and I am so pleased that you had a lovely weekend.
Warm and sunny weather in the countryside is the perfect accompaniment to a weekend trip!
Yes, it certainly is. I’m holding onto this lovely weather as long as possible!
