Happy Monday morning! I hope everyone had a nice weekend. Lots of sunshine, our first dinner “al fresco” of the season and nailing down some fun plans for the future all helped make my weekend a good one. We did find our first snake on the patio yesterday. Ugh. I have no use for snakes! When I first snake, hopefully it will be the only snake this year. Fingers crossed.
With Friday’s “Share Four Somethings” post, I feel like I have wrapped up March, but here we are with one more day. So, I thought I would just share some photos from my walk around the block on Saturday. Goodness but everything is looking so pretty. Please tell me it just makes your heart happy!! The yellow forsythia in the header was in a random neighbor’s yard. I may or may not dodged a fence and slipped into the yard because I just could not resist those yellow beauties. Forsythia always remind me of my dad.
This tree is in one of the neighbor’s backyard. I have to admit, this is “that neighbor.” The one who does nothing to his yard or his property. The aggravating neighbor, to the say the least. His yard is a sad mess; however, nature gives him one of the loveliest trees on the street. The puffs of pink bloom are huge and oh so pretty.
The cherry blossoms downtown were at their peak this weekend. Well, they were here at home as well. I heard the crowds were at their peak as well. With the weather so nice, there were record numbers downtown. I was happy to ooh and ahh as I walked through the neighborhood:)
I love how these bradford pear trees make a pretty white canopy down the center of the street. There are three or four of these groupings of trees and they make the drive in and out of the neighborhood so pleasant. They aren’t the strongest of trees and will blow over easily in a strong storm but they do their best…making pretty blooms.
Okay, I suppose that is enough flower photos for one blog post. I mean, I do have more but I will spare you:) I hope you have a good week ahead. I hope there are one or two unexpected blessings waiting for you this week. I plan to blog Wednesday and Friday this week, so please stop by again. Until then – Happy Monday!! Oh, and our fun very spring weekend, just might have included the season’s first ice cream cone!! Yes, cherry! Do you see a theme here:)
Oh what gorgeous trees – spring is such a beautiful season isn’t it? So the cherry blossom was a feast for the eyes and the ice cream cone a feast for the taste buds!
You are exactly right, Deb!!:)
Your pictures of the different blooming trees and bushes are just gorgeous, Jennifer. Makes me wish that I was on your walk with you.
So pretty! It’s true about Bradford Pear trees. The rumor is that the builder of our subdivision put up a bunch of Bradford pear trees because they were among the cheapest to plant. But boy are they ever not strong. I think almost all of them have fallen over/died in heavy winds. I’m sure there are some life lessons there (among them don’t be cheap unless you can get away with it, cough, builder!). Have a great day!
The trees are so beautiful! And I’ll take the ice cream too 🙂
Have a wonderful week!
‘our first dinner “al fresco” of the season’
Jennifer, this literally makes me smile outloud. Happy April to you, friend!
Beautiful blossoms to please the eye and delicious icecream for the taste buds. Thank you for sharing. Enjoy the rest of your week.
That is some ice cream! Loving all the flowers. No eating outside for us yet.. we had 60 mph gusts of wind and a tornado warning last night. And we don’t even get tornadoes.
Beautiful! Thanks for sharing the loveliness.
