Happy Friday:) No “official” Friday post for me this week. As I mentioned earlier, I was looking forward to a couple of days away with some friends – and this is the weekend! Woo hoo! I did want to say hello and leave you a short poem that I read this week. Have you ever read Jill Briscoe? I receive her devotional email every morning and really enjoy it. I enjoy listening to her whenever I have a chance. Her thoughts this week have been from the parable of the sower and the seed. Such good food for thought on a very familiar passage.
She finished one day up with the thought that Christ is the judge of the soil. Judging is not our job – no matter how well we feel we’ve mastered that talent. Ahem. She included this poem – which I assume she wrote herself. She writes and shares poetry quite a bit. Enjoy this one….and have a great weekend! I will be back on Tuesday (and just maybe on Monday morning for a quick hello!)
I dreamt death came the other night
and Heaven’s gates swung wide.
An angel with a halo bright
ushered me inside.
And there to my astonishment stood folks
I’d judged and labeled
As “quite unfit,” “of little worth,”
and “spiritually disabled.”
Indignant words rose to my lips, but
never were set free,
For every face showed stunned surprise;
No one expected me!
Oh I do like this poem. Thanks for sharing & I hope that you have a very enjoyable time away with friends. Friends that refresh us are the best.
Thank you, Mary-Lou…and so glad you visited my blog!!
Have the very best weekend.
Thank you, friend. It was delightful!
