Happy Monday and welcome back to the blog. I missed two days last week while I was away and I am looking forward to getting caught up (with blogging and several other things) today. I’m late with this month’s Share Four Somethings post, but still wanted to get in the history book, so I will get that done this morning and hope to share some photos from my trip later this week. Hopefully on Wednesday. I hope you will come back. But, for today, let’s jump into sharing four somethings. In March, something….
I LOVED – was the time change. I know plenty hate it and, although I don’t really see the need for switching back and forth, I don’t acutally mind it. Along with the extra light in the evening, I have been loving the warmer days. Both have really helped me get back into walking regularly – something else I have loved. And am loving. I think one of the things I loved most during March was my ladies’ Bible study. I’ve already mentioned it several times (so won’t repeat myself) but it was a great study, a wonderful group of ladies and a highlight of each week for me.
THAT SUSTAINED ME – (other than more sunlight and more walking) was planning and looking forward to going away last week. After the long winter and the hunkered down routine it creates, it was so nice to anticipate both a change of pace and scenery. I had a great time (sincerely) but the looking forward to it all is almost just as exciting and fun! Like I said, I actually have pictures. I’ll share some soon.
I AM CARRYING FORWARD – getting out and about more. Last weekend’s trip was a girls’ trip. It was fun. But I also really enjoy traveling with my hubby. And he is ready for a change of scenery as well. We have already put a few quick/short trips on the calendar. We will not take an “official” vacation until September but we are looking forward to getting away here and there in the next few weeks or so.
I AM MAKING SPACE FOR – new plants in our front flower beds. Sadly. We have had the prettiest azaleas out there since we moved in. Each year, we look forward to their color and showiness. But, it does not look like any of them survived the brutal winter. So disappointing. And when we pull them out, there is going to a lot of empty space. Not exactly the space I wanted to make room for this spring, but we will do our best to make it pretty again. Any suggestions of pretty flowering plants that grow quickly?
And, that’s a wrap. What have you been loving in March? Has spring arrived in your neighborhood? Let me know in the comments. I hope everyone has a wonderful week ahead. I look forward to catchin up with everyone over the next couple of days. Thanks for stopping by today!
How fun to have some short trips (and a longer one) planned with your husband! I know what you mean about filling spaces. For us, it’s some space out back due to the patio project. We didn’t lose any plants. I’m sorry some of your plants didn’t survive the winter. That’s harsh (get it?). I have loved or at least liked quite a bit about March so far. Warmer weather, mainly. I continue to dislike DST even though sometimes I have to admit it’s nicer to be lighter later :). Have a great Monday!
There has been quite a bit to love this past month! Glad you have enjoyed your March as well!!
Welcome home! Glad you are back…and that you had a really nice time while you were away on the girls trip!
You always encourage me when it comes to getting out and walking. It’s something that I don’t do nearly enough of.
I would prefer the time change to be gone and leave it the way God designed this world to function. Our bodies and our minds would work much better, in my humble opinion. 🙂
Thank you, Dianna. It is always nice to be home!:)
I enjoyed seeing all the pops of Redbud trees along the roadways from here to Roanoke and back. They definitely were putting on a good show. I am glad you had an enjoyable girls trip. I’m with you on messing with the clocks, but I prefer Standard time. Hard to believe April begins Wednesday!
Yes, I81 put on quite a nice show. Everything seemed to be in bloom. And, surprisingly, the traffic was not bad at all!!
Oh, wow. I just shared on my blog we started pulling out our azaleas today!!! Ours were killed in the recent freeze. They actually had have some pretty bad damage over the last three years because they would bloom and then we would have a freeze and over the last few years they just have had all they can give. We will have A LOT of empty space as well. I am not replanting them though. I am going with something else.
I am looking forward to your pictures. 🙂
Such a shame about the azaleas:( Here’s to spring reviving some of the other struggling plants!
Hello! I am also enjoying the days, and if they were warmer, I’d enjoy them even more. I like my morning walk, but I am a big baby about being cold. So, I haven’t gotten into the groove yet! Have a cozy afternoon, my friend.
Hooray for walking weather! Hope you get your groove soon:) Thanks for stopping by!
So sorry your azaleas did not survive the winter. Rhododendrons grow quickly and have lovely blooms too.
