Hello friends and I do hope your April is off to a great start! To my friends across the pond, I hope you have successfully transitioned to summer time and you are enjoying all the extra sunlight in the evening. I think that is the most glorious part!! I do hope everyone had a wonderful Easter. Mine was very nice. In fact, it is a good place to start this month’s post. So, currently, I am….
loving – all the cute Easter photos that I have seen and/or friends have shared with me….especially of the little ones. The kiddos look so cute and the egg hunts really do look like a lot of fun. No little ones in our family so I really enjoy the childlike glimpse of holidays, with all its wonder and fun, through others’ photos. If you remember, last year one of our son’s good friends had her first child and named him Tyler:) That cutie patootie is not only growing like wildfire but just keeps getting cuter. I think he really enjoyed his first Easter!
One other thing I am loving (and in connection with this year’s Easter) is an Easter basket. Yes, one for me! Like many moms, through the years I have been the one to assembly the baskets. But I can honestly say there have not been many baskets assembled and/or presented to me on Easter morning. Actually, I don’t think I can think of any. Until this year! Jordan’s girlfriend gave me the sweetest basket of handpicked goodies. It included trail mix (my absolute favorite!), a cute mug, cute socks, a few other things, and this sweet butterfly picture. I love it! I am not sure what type of needlework it is but I think it is so very pretty. I was humbled and so happy!
looking forward to – this sight in my front yard again soon. This is from last year and we have about a month to go before it looks like this again but the buds are there and it won’t be long. I’m sure there are some other things I am looking forward to…For instance, I really want to have my mediport removed and, hopefully, that will happen in the next couple of months! Really looking forward to that – not that it bothers me or hurts in any way but it will, in my mind, officially close the door on my treatments! As well, one of best friends (who recently had a birthday) is coming for a visit in a couple of weeks. Definitely looking forward to that, too. Oh, and I have a birthday this month!!:) But still, I keep mentioning the flowers and trees. The buds and the blooms. Because, this time of year, I just look forward to spring and all its beauty!!
buying – this month I am (finally!!) buying new curtains for our family room. We took down the old ones, I believe, over a year ago. They were supposed to be replaced right away. Obviously, that did not happen…for one reason or another. It has been frustrating, to say the least, for me. The family room has looked “off” and incomplete ever since. I am super happy to be getting this task done this month. Of course, I hope I get it right the frist time. We have one difficult wall that includes double windows as well as a sliding glass door. All next to each other and it is a bit of challenge deciding how best to hang the curtains, etc. By the way, my blog friend BillieJo has some of the prettiest window treatments. Well, I actually love all of her decorating but have, epsecially, been noticing her curtains. I may take some inspiration from some of her photos:)
planting – pansies! I love pansies…they are probably one of my favorite flowers. I so look forward to getting pots of them on the porch each spring. Hooray for pansy season!!
cleaning – um, let’s not go here. We have been helping our daughter move. Moving is not my favorite although I think I could organize, pack and relocate my own things without too much trouble. Moving someone else is an entirely different animal. Ugh. We also helped clean her old condo and, well, ugh. I done with cleaning for awhile and my hats go off to those who clean (other people’s messes!) every day for a living. Bless you.
And on that note, I will end. Not the best end note but the moving, the cleaning, the whining on my part (sorta) has been a large part of things currently. April can only get better from here. I hope your April goes uphill as well. I hope your trees are blooming, your yards are greeening up and there will be plenty of sunny days in the month ahead. You can find the rest of the link-up here. And let me know in the comments what you are looking forward to – in April or anytime in the near future! Thanks for stopping by. And just to leave on a more smiley note, here is some more baby Tyler goodness…..
Just a side note for my friend Debbie at Millie’s Cozy Cottage. I have been trying to leave comments on your blog. There is a message that reads “comments are restricted to team members.” A team member?? Can I join your team:) If so, how??
The pansies are pretty and always do good in pots for me. Those trees are so pretty! Helping someone else move is hard work! Hope you have a good day!
Pansies always seem to thrive in pots! Hope your day is going well too, Marilyn!
All the spring blooms are so beautiful!! And so is your butterfly picture. Lovely!
Thanks, Erin. And glad you stopped by today!
How sweet is Jordan´s girlfriend?? She filled your basket with the neatest assortment! I was going to fill Easter baskets for my kids´ significant others but that was before the Great Fall. Friends brought me an Easter basket while I was in the hospital so I saw it when I arrived home which was nice. Those trees are absolutely gorgeous! I can see how you are looking forward to seeing them in bloom. And baby Tyler is adorable. My BD is this month is well! I wonder how close the dates are… Have a great one!
Jordan’s girlfriend is a keeper…for sure!
Love your beautiful flowers and Tyler is a cutie! I think the butterfly is punch needle work. I wonder if the gift giver made it. It’s very pretty.
Thanks Cathy – I really like it. And I’ve never heard of punch needle work. Thanks for the insight!:)
Oh my goodness, Jennifer! That Tyler boy is SO SO cute! I just want to reach through the monitor and give him a hug.
I will be praying about the mediport being removed soon. Although I certainly have never gone through anything to the extent that you have, I do understand how having that removed would give you a definite feeling of closure to your treatment. xx
Which day in April is your birthday? My mother’s birthday was April 18 and I have a granddaughter who has a birthday on Sunday the 7th.
Wishing you a lovely remainder to your week, sweet friend. xx
Thanks, Dianna. I always appreciate prayer and, yes, I do hope the port will be removed soon. My birthday is on the 26th:) So many April birthdays!!
April 26th! Thank you, Friend!
Tyler is adorable! I’ll bet you can’t wait until you can see the full blooms in your front yard. We helped our daughter move this weekend, too, but just the big furniture. She’d moved most of the smaller stuff during the week.
Hooray for your daughter moving the small stuff!! I’m glad we could help (but hope we don’t have to do it again anytime soon…lol!)
Oh, that precious Tyler! I know that warms your heart to see him growing so fast. And that Easter basket of goodies from Jordan’s girlfriend??? Oh my word! How sweet of her to do something so thoughtful for you. She’s a keeper, hopefully! I loved reading your updates, my friend. I hope you enjoyed the day!
Thanks, Jennifer! She is a keeper:) Hope you are having a wonderful week as well…here’s to a good weekend too!
Tyler is such a cutie! How sweet that someone made you an Easter basket?! I love that.
It was super sweet of her…I’m still enjoying all the goodies she included in the basket!!
Doesn’t it make your heart sing to see the first colours of spring? Oh it really does lift your spirits.
Tyler is gorgeous and I am sure he enjoyed his first easter.
I cannot imagine how hard it was to help with all that packing up. We haven’t moved house for 32 years so I am sure that we have a whole lot of stuff here that we really wouldn’t need to move with us! There is a programme on tv here called ‘Sort your life out’ where they go into someones home, pack everything up and move it to a warehouse where everything is laid out in areas on the floor. They have to get rid of 50% of their stuff! Then it is packed back up and moved tidily into the home again. I love it! It’s so eyeopening to see what people have in their homes – this week the family had over 100 towels, who needs that many? I’m always astonished by how many pairs of shoes some people have!
Oh boy, that shows sounds like quite the eye-opener!! I am always amazed at the amount of shoes some folks have!! Glad you stopped by, Deb. Always glad when you do…have a wonderful weekend!
I’ve also seen the team member thing! I just end up moving on…It shouldn’t be so hard to join in on the other blogs!
Love the little sweetie, Tyler! What a happy face!!
Those trees are glorious! And I love all the pink blossoms…
Happy weekend!
hugs
Donna
That Tyler face is a happy one!! I hope you have a wonderful weekend, Donna!!
What amazing flowering trees, so pretty and so very pink, I’d be happy to look at them all day.
Thanks Chris – yes, I do try to enjoy the view often throughtout the day!
