Happy Wednesday, friends. It was nice to connect with so many on Monday and I hope everyone is having a good week. Perhaps because I have been “busy in the blog world” but, for some reason, it feels as if I just posted; however, it is time for this month’s Currently post. Do I have anything to say? Not sure but let’s see what the prompts might be for today. Hmmm. Currently, I am……
LOVING – signs of spring. There have not been many, to be sure, but I did see a few daffodils just starting to poke through the soil and the air has definitely felt warmer these past few days. The last two mornings I have headed out without a coat. That always makes me happy. I have also been loving some pot-luck type fellowships lately. One of my Bible studies (the Ephesians study that I mentioned in last month’s Currently post) wrapped up yesterday. We always end with a pot-luck. I don’t usually go for buffet style meals in a restaurant but, for some reason, I seem to enjoy a table spread with food from my friends. Yesterday, I had the best cheddar broccoli soup and several other yummy side dishes. We also had a brunch last week in the other Bible study I attend. That one is much more “casual” but just as tasty.
CRAVING – all things spring. I’m craving long(er) days, opening the windows and crisp cotton sheets instead of flannels. My soul is in definite need of some spring. Let’s hope it arrives soon.
PINNING – anything about decorating. Those are my favorite ideas to not only save but to look at again and again. We do have a few projects (some just in the planning stages) for which I like the inspiration but, honestly, I just so enjoy all the beautiful rooms and decor ideas. The other things that get the most of my “pinning” attention are breakfast ideas. Another brunch casserole, baked oatmeal combination or delicious scone recipe will always make it to a pinterest board of mine. The “funeral potatoes” that I made for lunch on Tuesday were from Pinterest…and they were delicious!!
PLANNING – a trip with a friend later this spring. I hope it comes together. Also in the very early planning of a trip for our anniversary in the fall. No idea how either of these will ultimately pan out but the planning is fun so I go ahead with it.
APPRECIATING – how my husband steps in when I am not feeling well. He fills in the gaps nicely and does his best to take care of me, although both of us pretty much prefer “to be left alone” when we are sick. Mostly, I appreciate that he is self-sufficient. I have friends whose husbands are very dependent on them. They don’t seem to mind and a couple even seem to like it but I am grateful for a husband who can take care of himself, and whatever else needs it, when I am not around or am under the weather. We make a good pair:)
Well, that is it for this month. Rather short and sweet but not a lot to say this week. Please let me know if you have been seeing the signs of spring. I need the reminder…and the encouragment!! I hope everyone has had a nice Wednesday. What is left of it. And don’t forget to check out the rest of the link-up here.
I am also really craving spring. I’m ready for open windows, more sunshine, and some laundry hanging on the line…!
I hear ya, Natasha! Hopefully, it will not be long!!
That name- “funeral potatoes”- such a negative sounding one for such a good dish!! I know how the name originated but still. I love the taste of them as well and I’m glad they brought you some joy :). That is great about your husband- both that he cares so well for you when you need and can care for himself when he needs to. I hope you have lots of sunshine today and warm weather. We got a dusting of snow last night but we have temperature forecast in the next week with the digit “7” in the tens place so we are pretty happy about that! Have a great day!
Funeral potatoes – funny, indeed. But so tasty!:) I think the “7 in the tens digit” weather is headed our way as well – WOO HOO!!!
It is, indeed, a blessing to have a husband who can fend for themselves when need be. Both my late hubby and my current one were/are capable people. And both knew/know how to care for me when I’m down. I hope true spring with all of her cheery daffodils and cotton sheets become your daily comforts very soon!
Oh yes I am oh so ready for spring to arrive! It has been nice not having to wear a coat but I’m still braced for another cold spell or two since I’m pretty sure spring will not arrive just yet.
My church is currently doing a bible study on Ephesians. Yes, we can all taste a little bit of spring and are ready for it! Hope you have a great weekend!
Jennifer, those sheets on the line swinging in the breeze are the most delightful sight on this brisk Saturday afternoon. You’ve captured the hope and promise of spring!
I’m craving spring too, and so far haven’t seen too many signs of it. I guess there aren’t really daffodils right around my apartment so I’ll probably have to go for a walk to look for some early blooms. I appreciate my considerate and self-sufficient husband too, and I’ve seen quite a few Currently participants giving shout-outs to their husbands which is always a good thing! Hope you’re having a great week!
Wonderful laundry on the line in the wind, sunshine and blue skies – that’s exactly what we’ve had for days now, today 18 degrees Celsius – it’s a dream. Spring. Enjoy…
because it won’t stay like this, from Wednesday onwards it will rain and it will cool down again… but that’s good for nature.
But now we’re enjoying the beautiful days outside – with laundry on the line, walking in the forest, drinking coffee in the garden.
Best wishes to you from Viola
So glad you stopped by, Viola! I look forward to blog visits again!
I’ve been seeing signs of Spring too. I don’t mind Winter because we don’t get a lot of snow here but Spring is always nice. Have a great week. Thanks for stopping by.
Oh I wish I could say we received zero snow…but I suppose I need to move somewhere much further south! I’m glad you stopped by, Mary. Thanks for commenting and visiting!
Hello Jennifer, such a lovely read but I enjoy all of your posts as they are always so interesting. That’s a beautiful image with the washing blowing in the wind and that incredible blue sky above. It’s lovely to see spring on the way. Thanks for the recipe link, I always am trying to get new ideas to put on the table. Have a great week my friend 🙂
Thanks Denise – I hope your week is a nice one as well!! Thanks for your sweet comments!!
I’m glad to hear that your family is feeling better, and YES, come on, spring! I feel as if I have lost these first two months of the year with winter weather, illness, and other concerns. Thanks always for your writing and friendship.
I’ve been able to get washing out on the line all week which has been a real treat. I am also blessed with a husband like yours Jennifer, who is more than capable of looking after himself, the house and me when the need arises.
Looking forward to longer sunshine Spring days and wish them for you too.
My mother in law was not very big on teaching her son how to do things. He is very capable man but once he enters the kitchen he is clueless. I am trying to raise my boys very differently. MIL initially would try to help my kids by doing their chores for them but I had to put my foot down. Now my kids cook,do their own laundry etc and she oohs and aahs over them as if it happened overnight and not me teaching and training them for years.
